Did you see those benchmarks? Holy crap
@MonsieurX:
It's more powerful than a 2017 Macbook PRO.
The closest Android competitor runs at about half as fast.

@MonsieurX:
synthetic? ? next thing you'll say is anandtech is not a reputable source of information and research.
Every year it's the same on any benchmarking platform. Only difference this year, is the gap is at its widest ever, leaving Android in its dust. As always
And only 50 people waiting outside of the 1st store worldwide to sell the iPhones this year, kinda pathetic...
Just a note;
iPhone 4 - approximately 800 (and lots of tents)
iPhone 5 - ~500 (still lots of tents)
5s - ~300 (20-30 tents)
6 - ~175 (10 tents)
7 - 80 (1 guy)
8 - 50 (there was 1 guy with a tent, but he said **** it and went home, turned up on release day at 4am and was first in line).
It took double the amount of time to process a 2 minute clip on Android while it only took half of a half of 2 minutes for the iPhone to do the same. Holy cow. The cognitive dissonance in the Android camp is strong these days
Th newest tech is the fastest? No way, that's too hard to believe.
The chip is undeniably a beast but that speed is mostly for niche things. I doubt 90% of phone users need to have all that extra speed to run facebook and snapchat. Same could be said for all current phones as well.

So what point are you attempting to make?
