So I thought I might create one last thread. (GUFU Memories)

Gufu was created and cultivated in 2006 by moody, jaded, out of touch with reality jerks like me. A long the way people have left, moved on, come back, went to college, became game developers, etc etc. One thing has remained. The spirit of fellowship through mutual likes and dislikes of games, movies, books, art, and porn. 

I was 16 when I joined GUFU shortly after its inception. Seven years later I am married with a beautiful daughter, and while my life has changed completely I can honestly say that I wouldn't be who I am today without the friendships I have gained, and lost in GUFU. (Hey Justin, no hard feelings about you being a filthy lemming, ya?)

I don't know what the point of making this thread is, as the group will still persist on the IRC, STEAM, and gufuyourself.cmm (Endlessbacklog.com to be), but I suppose if anyone is still even checking this forum..

Someone on the IRC photoshopped game's head onto the king of all cosmos. So naturally I took advantage of this by stealing the picture so I could post it in case this place collapses one day

Now I miss the IRC. Haven't been there since the DMC disaser remake was announced and before that 2008 or 2007.

For GS, it was when we were hijacking almost every thread in SW. We were getting modded left and right.

I remember quite a few people in initial GUFU who seem to have disappeared, though I think some changed accounts too.

I remember there were a few threads back to back that were really infuriating on SW, moreso than usual, then next morning I got invited to GUFU right when it was made. Under a different account that everyone knows of course...

Was invited by -Zaku- but I got no idea whatever happened to him, I looked up his username a few years after he disappeared and it looked like he signed in to gamespot every half a year or so but never said anything. I remember respecting him as a poster at least.

It's sad SW seems to have reverted back to shittier times since I left, returning TxHBO and unbanning a lot of people who deserved to stay banned.  

I remember that one time when people thought we're the illumanati.

I first heard about GUFU from people's sigs on System Wars. They were everywhere, I clocked on some and it led to this union. I wasn't really interested in joining, but I know that it was huge. Darkspineslayer interviewed Game on SWM one time, but I still wasn't very interested.

People from GUFU (can't remember who specifically) kept asking me to join, sending me PM's and invites; but I wasn't really interested. I didn't hit accept until years after, and by then the union had already dwindled into what it is now.  

You know, I think by now GUFU is not going to get any smaller; the ones that are left are too close to each other to leave.

I still have no idea how I got in. I'm glad you guys (and girl?) accepted me in though. Lots of good times. My favourite still has to be the time Killa screamed like a mad black woman during zombies in Halo 3. Nearly died laughing skinny_man_69

If I remember correctly, Ashely (who's username on GF I forget now... lol) I think said for you guys to invite me, and next thing I know, I have a PM on my inbox asking me to join. :) I know I'm not very active (what with final year of school and lots of work going on, etc.) I still poke around here and there, and I see some of you guys on the internets (FB, twitter, IG, etc.) Some of you guys have become good friends and some of ya, I still don't know. :P

I overall remember seeing you guys before I joined, and thinking everyone was pretty chill. A good group of people who made posting on SW fun, back when SW was a lot more fun... :Dyoshi_64
