Why so low numbers in the option? i feel kinda left out here.
Yeah this is a dumb poll, most Steam users have at least more than 50 games.
lol @ the scale of the poll options.
Gamespot should know their readers that are using steam would probably buy alot of games.
Poll should have been
1-25, 25-50, 50-100,100-250, 250+

Yep.
With sales and bundles today 50 games on steam is a low amount for most people.

Hell, a single humble bundle you can get with a dollar gives you 4 games, and that's not even counting the freebies you get on other sites. One can get to 50 games within a month.
By the way, Stealth Inc. 2 is currently free on Humble Store, if anyone wants it.
I think the better poll would be how many of your steam games have you played/beaten
or maybe the proportion of games you have played would also be interesting and funny. Though it would require some basic math
To be fair, I think the poll is based around the average across the steam population. I wouldnt be surprised if the average is somewhere around 30. You'd be surprised at the amount of steam users that only stick to a 1-3 games a year and stick within close 'insular' gaming communities. Play DotA 2, CS:GO or any other team based multiplayer game, the MMO community branching out into online persistent survival games, strategy game fans that play just that or people that have purchased Football Manager, which requires a Steam Install.
But for a poll targeted to the Gamespot readership? it's definitely going to be higher as we come here discussing and consuming a large amount of games.
max is 50 games here??
I have 401 games!!!! :P

steam is telling on the website 389 maybe others are free 2 play...
@Jacanuk: There is no way you have played all of those games and DLCs properly from start to finish.
Either you are on one of those accounts that is used for dodgy trades or you clearly have more money than sense. How many of those games have you played for less than an hour?
@RockmasteR-_- We'd be impressed if you didn't have half of them unplayed and a load more where you played an hour and then clearly gave up.
Which considering some of those unplayed and abandoned games are awesome like Deus Ex and Witcher 2, you are clearly more interested in quantity than quality.

Hmm, think i have played around 5% of them , And i am not ashamed or have a problem with that, i buy games because why the heck not, i am a gamer and you never know what you might want to play.
As to money, well its all about priorities, anyone can afford to buy a lot of games today, they are cheaper most times than buying a cup of coffee or a pizza.
@Dannystaples14: Nobody asked how many games you've played, it's a question about how many you own. You have no idea what collecting means or well some people just like to support games they see very interesting, but just don't have the time right now for it.
