One thing is certain. We thought that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was not only amazing, but also "essential." One of the proud few to make it into our elite club of 10/10 games, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was praised for having "phenomenal, beautiful open world that juxtaposes violence with beauty," an "absorbing story that wonderfully balances world politics and personal conflict," and "fantastic detailing that revealed the consequences of your actions."

The Hype that is Witcher 3 has died

it's meh to me

I do not care. I found the two games before Witcher 3 to have poor game play and I can not stand it setting

It's a great game. I give it 9/10. The way the questing in the game was handled is top notch. There is always a purpose behind the quests with decisions and consequences and many memorable NPCs and stories. The quest variety could have been better though (in terms of gameplay). I would like to see more elaborate quests with some more environment interaction or dungeon style puzzles. Other than that, it was executed very well. Game of the year so far.

My only issue with W3 is the fact that poor old Roach gets hung up way to easy. Other than that small issue, I have to say I have had a fantastic time playing it. CDPR has some excellent storytelling backing the game, and often during side quests I got really invested in them. So much so, that after completing them I would say "The hell was I doing before?"

Think this game is either love/hate. Some gamers don't enjoy being unable to button-smash their way through a game.

When you care for the stories of the characters in the side quest, then you know you've got a winner. I'm no completionist but I love doing the sidequest because of the care they give to it.

I look forward to their steam punk game they are working on

@GameSpot: its great! Was looking for an intense, old school, medievel, magic wielding, sword swinging open world adventure.... And it hit the spot, well, spot on. Great world, great stories, and fantastic atmosphere. Will take a hundred hours to finish but makes me want to continue more anyway, quests can seem slightly repetetive but its a huge game, hard not to have duplicates, amd your a witch hunter, you do what witch hunters do, hunt monsters, hurt badguys, make money, find amazing almost infinite weapon and armour combinations, fully upgradable and customizable, and get down with hot chicks in a casino/bar.... I can do that over and over and over. Great game 9.5/10 due to just a few bugs and sometimes id have to skip through some dialouge as it was a little monotonous.

@GameSpot: Gameplay is great, story is amazing, the npcs have recycled faces but that's okayish. Only one thing though. I hope I can play the expansions already.

It's brilliant... right up there with Arkham Knight as my GOTY.

It starts kind of strong but the end is a complete disaster. Too bad the Witcher game series lost its soul. Too much hubris and some wrong, basic decisions, I guess

It's an essential indeed and one of the best games ever made.

Side quests used to be as good as main quests, but here it all repetitive shit one after another. Main story is good, how the game is executed is good, world is good, but point of interest and side quests meh. 8/10

its a great game possible game off the year for me but 9/10 at moment untile the dlc comes out
