May Schedule - need your PC recommendations!

The month of may has platform dedictions, but the editorial team twisted my arm in having the UFC 2009 Undisputed game night with two platforms. 

May 2009 [Steam Calendar]

Week 1: Wii dedicated game. DECIDED - Mario Kart Wii [May 5th]

Week 2: PS3 dedicated game. DECIDED - Killzone 2  [May 12th]

Week 3: PC dedicated game. UPDATE - Current suggestions:
- BF2142
- Dawn of War 2

Awesome, Street Fighter 4. I've actually got that one too! Yay! After that though I'd have to vote for Rock Band 2 and Call of Duty. While I don't like Call of Duty all that much it's still a much better choice than MK vs. DC which isn't on as many platforms nor does it allow as many players. It'd be much easier to arrange games with CoD than MKvDC. And Rock Band over Guitar Hero due to... well I like Rock Band better. :P

Id like to play rock band. I dont have RB2 yet just 1.

other ideas for games to play that would be good.  COD4 i dont have world at war yet. Also NHL 09.

May 2009 Week 4: Call of Duty 4 or Bad Company.

May Week 1: Smash Bros. Brawl or Mario Kart Wii again.

Oh and for May my thoughts are:

Week 1: Wii dedicated game - No Clue
Week 2: PS3 dedicated game - Killzone 2
Week 3: PC dedicated game - Dawn of War 2
Week 4: Xbox 360 dedicated game - This might sound a bit out there but why not get together some sort of Horde mode thing for Gears of War 2. Just a thought.

Thanks everyone. I have updated the original thread with everyone's suggestions. Feel free to vote for the end of April game in the poll.

The Wii list is quite hefty from having a dedicated Wii discussion the past few weeks. If for some reason these Wii games are not capable to handle internet multiplayer matches please let me know.

For the first week I would suggest Bomberman over the others. It's a really fun game and SSBB has already been done and I think Mario Kart might get a little heated in a bad way (snaking, bikes vs. carts, blue shells... yeah... bad times online).

For weeks 2 and 3 I would definitely suggest not doing Unreal Tournament 3 since it's been done before. Killzone 2, BF2142 and Dawn of War 2 haven't had a game night yet. So I'm inclined to go with the newer stuff than the old stuff. For Week 4 since it's all repeats I'll vote for the one I could participate in, so Gears of War 2.

In the end I'd happily change my vote to whatever game more people actually own.

For the first week I would suggest Bomberman over the others. It's a really fun game...

How about sometime you do a Resident Evil 5 multiplayer. The DLC is now avaliable, while it may not be worth the price tag, a lot of people have already downloaded it, inclucing myselfSoulreavercross

I agree, i think a Resi evil 5 multiplayer would be good.It's a good action game and i am sure all will enjoy this :)

Since there weren't that many votes on the RB and GH games, and Res5 has two platforms available, I've added it for week 4 of April.

Those who don't have the versus DLC can participate by playing the co-op mode. 

UPDATE: Also decided to have Killzone 2 as the first PS3 dedicated week. We still need your help on deciding a good game for Week 1 (Wii), Week 3 (PC) and Week4 (XBox).

-(Week 1) Mario Kart Wii: Mario Kart wii works really well unlike any other of those wii games. And it is very fun. It also supports 12 players which would be great. If we do have a Mario Kart Wii Game Night I would be willing to host.

-(Week 3) Dawn of War 2: I'm not really big on pc gaming so i guess Dawn of war 2

-(Week 4) Gears of War 2: Very fun, competative multiplayer. I personally have a lotta fun playing this game for hours. Battlefield bad company has fun multiplayer but it has the whole squad system and u can only chat with your squad(4 players). So that would disconnect everyone from each other. My second choice would be call of duty 4. Never gets old. But definitely gears 2 my top pick. Its a newer game.

Well if we don't want the disconnect with Gears of War 2 we could always split up into little Horde mode thingies. I know the point is to kick each others butts but it's an idea. I'll be there for RE5 in the chatroom and participating in the single player mode. I refuse to shell out for the DLC.Misfit1119

the disconnect i was talking about was for battlefield bad company. but i still agree with you. we should have a horde group and other types of groups. good idea

@realkilla: Oh. I haven't played Gears 2 online competitively so I wasn't sure. Plus I totally misread your post. Whoops! :)

@Jody: I believe we've also done Battlefield Bad Company and CoD 4. The only reason I suggested Gears out of the whole mess is that non-competitive types can still play Horde mode together and it's hard to actually play GoW2 online. Too many glitches / exploits. At least with CGN we can weed most of that out. That said I'm pretty open to changing that if someone else gets a better idea or one that's not been done before.

I just played on the Mod's Collective Union game night, hosted by Spazz....great fun while it lasted.....more people needed.

What about Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway for week 3?! It's a great game and I think a lot of people are playin it ...

personally. i like css better. but it seems like team fortress 2 is the more popular vote. (css game night june?)

I have power supply issues with the latest of games, ever since I installed my gtx285 gpu, so I'll have to sit the next few games nights out.

Also, what about a PS2 night? I'm sure there are a lot of popular games on there, and you'd be more likely to rake in a large group of gamers there than the PS3. I know it isn't the latest and greatest system, but I still don't have a PS3 (even though I have some games for it). It doesn't have to be any time soon, but I reckon it'd be nice.
