I have an Xbox 1 but I have many friends that think that the PS4 is better. I need your opinions to prove which one is better! It can be for any reason like updates, graphics, cost etc.

Thanks (:

10,000 threads on this subject, if not more. Most people will say Sony, simply because this website is Sonyspot. The majority of people here on Gamespot don't like MS.

@Macutchi: Personally I like the Xbox 1 better and it’s not because of Microsoft I just like the graphics and controls better

I like the Xbox One better because it has a better online service, a better controller, and better features (backwards compatibility, cross-play, less restrictive mods, 4K Blu-ray support, early-access games, soon to be Amazon Echo support, etc.).

I also enjoy games like PUBG and Cuphead more than any of the PS4's exclusives.

If you want to do more than just play games on it, movies, browse etc. Get an Xbox, if its purely for gaming get a PS4

Question guys, what are your thoughts on pc costs vs. ps4/xbox costs when gaming?

I have a project at school about the range of turnover among pc gamers who sometimes need to upgrade their hardware in order to keep up with the increased requirement demands when playing newer games. I know graphics and gameplay can be better on pc compared to ps4/xbox. But has there been an issue and is that a main factor in why many more people choose ps4/xbox because they don't have to upgrade their specs?

I'm more of a ps4 gamer mainly due to not wanting to spend a lot on gaming pcs. And the games I've played on pc, I see a lot of lag. However, I do find the mod communities in pc games to be amazing, but is it worth it for the price of upgrading?

Last, how often do you pc gamers need to upgrade hardware/software to stay up-to-date with new games?

Both are valid for different reasons, and will change depending on the person, and what they want to play.

I would personally recommend the platform that is popular with friends/ or the system that has the most games that catch ones appeal.

If one have plenty of 360 games however, the Xbox One let's you play them without expecting a repurchase like the Switch and PS4. That is one clear advantage if your 360 has long since had the RROD.

All the other differences I would not consider relevant. Games and player-base is the most important.

Playstation 4 has a considerable bigger and better line of exclusive games. PS Plus offer also offers way more deals on games than Xbox does.

I got the Xbox One before the PS4 because i love the Forza games and was a big fan of the Gears trilogy and the Halo games on the 360, so expected something similar. Xbox was never able to recreate that lineup however, while Playstation has built up an incredible exclusive set of games that goes far beyond the Xbox exclusives. However, it all depends on how much games you really buy, if you are a hardcore gamer that buy tons of games you will notice a big difference in quality.

Playstation 4 out of the non-upgraded systems. Xbox One X otherwise.

Personally I'd say PS4 though mostly for the Crash and Spyro Trilogy, and the Digimon games. Last year I would have also included the Sword art online series of games but two or three of them have come over to the Xbox one. The Xbox one X is the best for graphics though, and would be the one I'd want to pick up if I where to go into 4K gaming.

I use my ps4 for everything, gaming, HBO, youtube, streaming, spotify, and they have tons of exclusives. PS4 way to go imo, tho I've never owned the X1..

One isn't better than the other. It is all preference. I like the X1 for the B/C. I also prefer the controller. I'm sure I would like the PS4 games as well but I really dislike the controller.

I find Sony to be somewhat anti consumer at the moment with not allowing cross play with X1/NES (PC is allowed). Microsoft tried that with not allowing used games to run on the system and they didn't get away with it. They tried to announce that at E3 of all places and it did not go over well at all. Having corporations tell us what we can and can't do isn't good for consumers. If you like multiplayer games and your friends have a PS get a PS to play with them, if you like the PS4 exclusives buy it.

If you like Microsoft exclusives and cross play with PC and Nintendo for Fortnite buy a X1. If you still want to play last gen 360 games get a X1. If you don't feel like jumping into PC gaming which I think is preferable to owning an X1 but it doesn't invalidate reasons to own an X1 get the X1. You have to decide what you like in the long term. They are investments that will last around 5 years if you go console.
