Would you like to see the old Tomb Raider games remade?

Those from Core Design and on the PS1, Dreamcast and PC, namely Tomb Raider through Chronicles. If the answer is yes, then in what style should they be remade, otherwise ported from those systems?

I would like to see them source ported and improved like Taxman and Stealth's Sonic games, which is to reuse the assets (touched upon or not) with a new code base, to improve its controls through modding. I would give them MMORPG-like options for tank controls and strafing with mouse look.

The advantage would be to use any of the 5 games and expansions to fill it with content when I have never seen so many games use the same engine. Well, except for Mega Man, perhaps...

No, not really. I want a new version of Tomb Raider that stays true to what Tomb Raider is this time but has improved movement, puzzles and superior run and gun combat. Also, it should have the solitude from the earlier games. I don't think TR ever really came close to its potential. I did really like Anniversary, though, and Go, TR2, Legend and Guardian were good too. Underworld I found mediocre. Those are all the non-Laura Croft games I played through.

i mean, when the current iteration of Lara reaches the age where her rivalry with Natla begins, I'm all for a retelling of that, but I don't want it to be a remake so much as a re imagining.

I've only properly played Tomb Raider Anniversary. But in my opinion, remakes of the older games aren't needed. Especially when they're going ahead with the newer games.

I think I don't need old Tomb Raider to be remade. I enjoy playing them in my PS1. And the last Tomb Raider is really cool, BTW.

I would like all 9 of them remastered one day, the first 3 are top of list for games that need to be remastered for modern generation.

I feel the same way; prefer re-imaginings (reboots, for all intents and purposes) to remakes. The game was already made, after all; I'd rather have the fond memory of it than see it remade "frame for frame" except in a new graphics engine.

Nah, they had their turn; time to give the license to someone else and see what they can do with it, for better or worse.

The first three worked as they were on PS1. They are best played as they are. So, up the reso, add more polygons to Lara, but leave everything else as is.

The remaster they did of TR1 was pretty horrible affair on last gen. I'd rather not see the games ruined like that again.

The PS2 era raiders werent that good games, so do not really deserve remaster.

Someone in France made a remake of Tomb Raider 2 running in Unreal 4. Only one level is available around the web but it's damn good.
