Resident Evil 0,1,4,5,6 were remastered for the current generation. 7 was just released. RE2 is getting a remake. What will come of RE3?
Capcom will probably wait to see how well the Resident Evil 2 remake sells before deciding on if they will remake Resident Evil 3 or not.
Remaking a game is a long expensive process, so who knows. Like others have said it will probably be more likely if the Resident Evil 2 remake does well.
@Black96Z: Been hearing a number of rumors that if RE2 sells well that RE3 wouldn't be off the table. However we will have to see.
I'm sure we'll see it eventually. The push for an RE2 remake has been strong, so I'm sure it will be successful.
@AFBrat77: No it wasn't. Code Veronica was just RE 2 in rendered Environment with some weapons in First Person view. at least RE 3 feels more like a sequel.

It really does. I prefer the plot, some creatures, and length in Code Veronica. But Nemesis has it beat in every other area.
@AFBrat77: I like them both very much. But I'm looking at it more from a mechanical perspective. And Code Veronica kept a lot of the outdated mechanics from Resident Evil 2, and added the terrible first person aiming which even when it was new was poorly received.
While Nemesis took the series forward (mechanically); that games like the Remake and Zero would also use. Such as not pressing the action button for going down the stairs, ladders, which was amazing compared to Code keeping that in, though this maybe because the game was already too late into development to make that change (development of Code started before Nemesis).
Creating custom ammo, (which saw a return in Outbreak and the new Resi7) it gives diversity and more options in how you use your items, making encounters that much more fun.
Nemesis encounters. So Mr X was actually a thing way before Resi3: Nemesis. That's true. However his timing was very scripted at certain events. While the Nemesis had many times in which he would either show up or not. Adding to that Survival Horror vibe. It's also awesome to know that defeating Nemesis during the odd encounters made him drop very useful items. Including some of the best weapons in the game. A feature I wish Resi7 did with the Baker Family.
Lastly Mercenaries started with the third game and has been a big part of the series since. Really adding to the replay-ability. Speaking of replay-ability, who could forget the hidden Barry ending in Nemesis? While Code Veronica had *sigh* Battle Mode, that thing that inspired Capcom to make the Chronicle games and Dead Aim. And no optional ending. .
With that, Code Veronica I still gives many Pros over Nemesis. Resi 3 is a much shorter game, that reuses a lot of Resident Evil 2s backgrounds and enemies for the early sections of the game. While Veronica is filled with new terrors and areas.
I loved the boss fights as well more so than I did in Nemesis (minus the two in first person). The only boss I really like in Nemesis is. . . The Nemesis? Which we get a lot, but the most fun for me has to be when you can spray him with chemicals to make him fall apart (late-game). While each boss in Code Veronica was at least different. The Steve and plane Tyrant are my favorites though_
If anything all this chatter about these games just makes me want to replay them both :)
Sorry but I really do not see a resident evil 3 remake for the simple fact due to it's In-Game Mechanics..... Mainly it's unbelievably difficult "DODGE" In- game aspect that quite frankly completely Separate's Good Game players to those that possess almost God like Reflexes in evading the In-Game Nemesis Character assaults.... And the problem is if you remove the Nemesis... It's Not Nemesis anymore..... Is it.
@zenobius: All you need to do is aim before the enemy hits you, it's one of the easiest dodging mechanics given in any game I've played, and the timing is very generous.

Why would the Nemesis be removed? That's dumb. Seems to me you just didn't enjoy that it packed a bigger challenge than the two games before.
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis did a lot of new things, and most of its improvements from Resident Evil 2 are still shown in the newer games.
They should just make HD remasters of Resient Evil 2 and 3 and bring them to Steam like the other RE games
