I think so. I loved COD 4, it didn't do anything new but everything it did was done pretty well. However, I dont think in 2009 simply doing everything better will be enough. When you see Killzone 2, it did everything well without introducing anything new ot the genre, hence for that it was criticized alot, yet the game hardly was as tightly scripted as COD genre. I dont know about you guys, I dont think Modern Warfare 2 will be no where near as big as the original was at it's time.
Well, if people expect it to be meh compared to the COD4 and it ends up being that way, then it won't be dissappointing. On the other hand, if people think it will be meh and ends up being awesome, then people will be happy.
I think it will be almost the same quality story and the multiplayer basically the same. Overall, I don't think it will dissappoint.
Everyone thought that World at War was going to be a major flop, and it turned out decent I guess. I highly doubt that Modern Warfare 2 will be as good as the original, but it will be good enough to bring in, some profit. Plus, as long as it has the same general online play layout then I am buying it.
Based solely on the success of CoD4 it will get massively over hyped and end up disappointing a few people. Your best bet is to not let the hype get to you.
Depends, if they are phoning in the single player game again having only 5 hours or so of gameplay then it certainly is getting the big fat paaaassss from me.

I expect to be a enhance version of Call of Duty 4, it will score well though because IW and not Treyach making the game.....personally I'm picking it up..but I'm not expecting it be groundbreaking like the 4 one was.
It probably wont be any different then the modern warfare game, but that doesnt mean much to me because COD4 was awesome online and off. I hope the sequal has maybe a longer story and new perks.
I think the biggest thing going against Infinity Ward's next Call of Duty game is Activision. More specifically, the way they're running the franchise into the ground by having Treyarch fill in the gaps every second year in order to have a new CoD game released annually, every holiday season. They might as well call IW's next iteration Call of Duty '09.
