Why can't i do Destiny 2's Leviathan raid with other guardians?

For the past week it's been very frustrating to me. I keep attempting to do the Leviathan raid but I'm not having any success. I enter the que which has a time frame of at least 45 minutes. It gives me the disclaimer and starts searching for other guardians. After waiting, it finally connects with other guardians like we are getting ready to enter the raid. I can see all of the players user tags as we are waiting to enter the raid, then all of a sudden they all disappear and I'm sitting there by myself like a CLOWN! What's happening?

EDIT - should probably explain. the website helps bring players together for different activities that aren't matchmade.

@vespuche: Thanks man, I appreciate it. I discovered that I had to adjust my Privacy settings differently. I'm going to try to link up and see if that does the trick. I'll also check out the link that you sent me.
