Well I remember after I had first got my Xbox this year I noticed on the back of a game cover that the game could support 720p. Now I had no idea that the original Xbox coould do HD but it seems it can. I found this list on another web site of the HD games

25 to Life
Amped 2
Atari Anthology
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Crash Nitro Kart
Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
Dragon's Lair 3D
Enter the Matrix
ESPN Major League Baseball 2K4
(16:9 only in 720p
ESPN NBA Basketball 2K4
Evil Dead: Regeneration
FIFA Soccer 2006
FIFA Street
FIFA Street 2
Freedom Fighters
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
Justice League Heroes
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
MVP Baseball 2004
MVP Baseball 2005
MX Unleashed
MX vs. ATV Unleashed
NBA 2K3
NBA Ballers
NBA Live 2006
Scarface: The World is Yours
The Sims: Bustin' Out
Soul Calibur II
4:3 window in 720p
Steel Battalion: Line of Contact
Street Hoops
Syberia
Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Tony Hawk's Underground
Tony Hawk's Underground 2
Total Overdose
True Crime: Streets of L.A.
The Urbz: Sims In The City
Virtual Pool
The Warriors
World Series Baseball 2K4
X-Men Legends
X-Men Legends II: Rise of the Apocalypse

Not sure if it is valid but there are some good games on there(Soul Calibur, Tony Hawk and X-Men)

So has any one ever tried any of these games running in HD? If so how do they look compared to SD on the Xbox?

Thanks

My friend gave me his Xbox a year ago, and that was the first thing my brother told me. Then he gave me HD wire (He had one in his room for some reason), and it didn't really look much better.

Well I have component cables and the games I have look great in 480p, I was trying to find out how the 720p/1080i supported games looked on the original Xbox.

Yeah guess I will just have to buy some and see. Is there an option under the game or is it under the main Xbox menu to go into HD?

Yep, it has 720p. I think 2 of them can even support 1080i. Which is cool. Interesting thing though, PS3 supported HD, but only 2 games had anything past 480p. Which is GT4 and Tourist Trophy, which were 1080i.

system defaults to hd automatically when the cables are attached. if your looking for a game that really shows the difference id suggest enter the matrix. its in 1080i and cost about 2 bucks used. i actually enjoy the game too even though alot of people hate on it. xmen legends has a good visual difference too.

Quick question about HD, the T.V I would be using the HD on only supports 1080i and 540p, if I set the 720p games to 720p will they still work?

I've had Steel Battalion: Line of Contact running in 720p. Not bad at all. No other Xbox games in my library support 720p, though. Problem is, I have neither an Ethernet cable routed up to the living room nor Ethernet-to-Wi-Fi bridge for either of my Xboxes, so I can't actually play it on the only HDTV here. (And then there's the "no consoles in the living room" problem...) That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that the original Steel Battalion maxes out at 480p and Line of Contact is multiplayer-only.

There WAS one PS2 game that could run in 720p *drum roll*...........Van Helsing......lol.

And of course GT4 and Tourist Trophy supported 480p as well as 1080i. I remember trying GT4 running at 1080i on a setup at a Fry's Electronics with steering wheel, pedals, and seat. My god it was amazing racing around the Nurbering test track.
