For those who don't know this genius:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Anderson
His style is very, very distinctive. He's directed some of the quirkiest, most wide colorful scenery-based and most heavy plot point buildup cinema of all time. He's a master director.
Here's 3 games that I think are very much like his films:
- No Man's Sky. This is fits the most into the category of Anderson-esque (that's an understatement). The universe-building is incredible and very much as if he coined the idea for this game at Hello to begin with. Quirky as f alien and human NPCs abound, very long plot buildups in the form of FTL space travel to key planets, and mostly sci-fi neon color pattern of everything. Also my favorite game of all time.
- The Life Is Strange series. I never played it but the poetic and artsy semi-slice-of-real-life feel of it gives me Anderson vibes. Only thing missing is the quirkiness.
- OCTO-DAAAAAAAAAA-AAA-AAD, THEY'LL NEVER SUSPECT A THING. Yeah, Octo Dad's on this list, it could be stop motion like his work on Isle of Dogs...tho I could more so see it as a Taika Waititi film cuz it's even weirder.
Honorable Mentions:
- The Stanley Parable
- Mr Mosquito
- Mosaic.
What games do you think are like his movies?
