Which ISP is better for online gaming: Cable or DSL?

I have heard pros and cons for both: cable is generally faster and DSL is more reliable.

It would seem to me that if you have the minimum speed required, then reliability is most important.

Anyone care to respond?

i think both are good but generally i think cable is faster and i do believe DSL has better upload bandwith so u if u host a game from ur own connection u can have more people connection 2 u without lagging then cable

DSL is more reliable in sense of speed and it's also faster in general. Since cable speed depends on the amount of people who also uses the same cable provider as you do, you might get a lower speed, while DSL is independent. I don't know anyone right now, who's using cable. All are using DSL. But that's the case in my country.
