Hey everyone,

I know suikoden goes into the ps2, but the first two were for the ps1. So which one is your favorite?

Mine is definitely Suikoden 2!

Until I can get Suikoden II for less than 40 bucks, I'll have to go with Suikoden V overall. Suikoden III for best story. Then Suikoden IV for being the worse of the series.

For some reason I tried to play 3, but I would play it at night and I would be tired. Also, the music in it was so relaxing that everytime I would get into it, I would fall asleep and the next morning It would still be on. lol

As for 5, It was really damn good, but for some reason 2 has been my favorite for awhile. I hope sony will let ps3's play ps2 discs soon so I can continue playing them all.

I keep forgetting that not everyone has a backwards compatable PS3 like mine, that was a bad mistake by Sony IMO. Are they really so in the hole that they need to take out emulators from their systems? Back on topic, how are the other Suikodens compared to 2?

I never got around to playing part 1 and 5 yet. I'm going to download pt.1 off on PSN once I pick up a PS3.

1 is like it, but not quite as good (being the precursor)...but still great 3 went in a whole new direction...still good 4 is not that good of a game 5 is very similar to 1 and 2

Suikoden 1 is the best hands down.

Suikoden 2 and 3 are good to, Part 4 is horrible while Part5 is ok.

I would have to say II was my favorite, with 5 following close behind it. I was great too but 3 and 4 were kind of meh.

Suikoden II was my favorite of the series. I had SO much fun playing every minute of that game. Suikoden V would be my second favorite.

Most of them were pretty good, but Suikoden II was definitely the best out of the bunch.
Suikoden V was a surprise though, considering it was released a year after Suikoden IV; which was kind of disappointing compared to the previous installments.

The 2nd Suikoden was the best in my opinion, the graphics, atmosphere, story, loads of unique characters.. simply awesome!

I also consider the DS's Suikoden game a good one.

It's nice to see people enjoying the second one. I agree that suikoden two is one of the greater games to come to the ps1. For those of you who have played Suikoden 1, you can download it on PSN, trust me it's worth the 4.99 cost lol.

To tell you the truth, I really enjoyed 1 compared to 5. 5 was good, but It didn't do much for me like 1 and 2.

Suikoden 2, followed by Suikoden 5. The neat thing Suikoden 2 is if you check Georg's profile, you'll learn some interesting information, leading me to believe that Konami planned out the series far more than we know.

I heard about that, I remember seeing something about it, but it has been awhile since I have played the game. I actually just started to play it again. But fill us in on what it said.

Georg's profile, taken from the Richmond Secrets FAQ from GameFAQs:
Secret 1:
Name: Georg Prime
Age: 41
From: Unknown
Position: Infantry Captain
Note: Formerly 1 of the 6 Generals of the Scarlet Moon Empire.

Secret 2:
"He's got a hell of a history. In the Scarlet Moon Empire, he was 1 of the 6
Generals. In the Grasslands, he was an Ebony Moon Knight, and in Falena he was
a Royal Knight. He just threw it all away."

Secret 3:
"You'd never know by looking at him, but that old man loves sweets. I watched
him put away 3 pieces of cheesecake in about 5 minutes..."

Secret 4:
"He can't go back to Falena because he's wanted for the crime of murdering the
Queen. What the hell could have happened back there..."
I bolded the important parts. Keep in mind that Suikoden 5 didn't arrive until 7 years later. Either they planned the series over several years, or they just happened to make up random stuff for Georg

Suikoden II is not only the best Suikoden game, texasgoldrush

Don't agree with this. While it's undeniably great, I thought 3 was better.

its the best RPG on the first Playstation.texasgoldrush

Do agree with this. By far.
