Not sure what your other options are however I found Wolfenstein The New Order, The Old blood to have one of the best shooting experiences in recent times. Other notable games include Doom. Metro was okay but I don't the shooting mechanics were as solid as the above mentioned.
i voted wolfenstein cause nostalgia ! my best memories is wolfenstein . they say a heart of a man is like an ocean it's filled with wolfenstein and doom . Metro redux cover looks like cod4 SAS members with gas mask . essentailly obscene . no one knows what hell metro crawled from if it was ubi or tom clancy's series ..
id software will never be the same again without john carmack . cause dr carmacks' condition is that : it is irreversible . wolfenstein old blood is pretty depressing game .
@james47: i did not say it's boring , i only said the old blood has a somewhat of a depressing theme to it , kinda opposite to what new order was . i havent played wolf old blood s campaign to the end but i dont think it has any zombies , i know new order didnt just nazi foot soldiers and robots . no multiplayer either . new order didn't even have a steam cloud ! old blood might .. have some zombie like dudes since its supposed to be a remake of 2010 wolfesntein.
i've played lots of cod but not so much BF . i've played cod since 2003 with call of duty 1 ! the only one i missed was cod 3 which was solely on ps3 . i remember the 2003 the american campaign was taken from wolfenstein : return to castle wolfenstein and the soviet campaign was like the movie enemy at the gates . that's what they do to make people giggle .
still wolfenstein hasn't got too bad better than doom 4 still . .
me , gamer since 1992 , my first game was prince of persia and cats . if you have any more question i would gladly assist . you're welcome . wolf can get boring but it depends on the person the most boring part is when you have to go silent and take the officers from behind .. you can also try the return to castle wolf still worth playing that was before obama and it was much gory and intense .
I don't enjoy many shooters but enjoyed D00M and the Shadow Warrior reboot games.
Otherwise always that Bioshock collection. The first Bioshock is still a game I personally find very enjoyable.
And considering Resident Evil 7 is in FP view you may want to consider that game, handles like a classical Resident Evil game and requires some thinking over careful aiming, but still think fans of FPS games would enjoy it :)
This is such a difficult question to answer because they offer quite different experiences.
Wolfenstein: The Old Blood is essentially a great re-imagining of the game Return to Castle Wolfenstein but set in the new timeline with a lot of new twists. It has some great characters (with great voice acting), and it's a decent length too. I would say Wolfenstein: TOB is more action heavy than Metro 2033, and the shooting mechanics are better.
However, the Metro games are very atmospheric and creepy, with great light mechanics and, in parts, almost a survival vibe as you hunt for ammo and gear in the environment to keep you alive. I would recommend playing both games, if you can.
@james47: You can go in guns blazing in Metro 2033 but it can be punishing. I don't want to spoil anything, but how you play through that game can change the ending. As for Wolfenstein: TOB, there are certainly a number of 'zombies' in it at a certain point in the game, but not all the way through.
@james47: The difficulty setting you choose is obviously a factor, but in the Metro games your character is not a bullet sponge, so you have to be more tactical in combat. There's no quick health regen when you take hits, so you are reliant on whatever health kits you have on you.
I had this poll before on some forums, I haven't tried both, (kinda disappointed on the new generation of FPS). But yeah as expected more people voted towards Metro games. The last FPS games that I really cared were the first Crysis games ( 1st Crysis and Warhead). Half Life 2 would be on the top for me. Call of Duty or Battlefield games have been meh over the years.
