hey guys just thought I'd discuss where people get their retro games.

I've used yardsales, local game stores, www.shopgoodwill.com and www.amazon.com. Amazon is good if you dont want to bid. but shopgoodwill has a lot of stuff and you dont have to worry about them ripping you off.

what about you guys?

thanks

Local gameshop called Get Your Game On, it is right on campus for the University of Michigan. I go there to get my Dreamcast games and Saturn games. They sell anything from NES up to PS3/360 stuff which is almost a one stop shop for all my gaming needs.

For me it's a quick look at thrift stores every now and then. You find some great deals, games you'd find on e-bay from $20 to $50 or more, I've gotten for about $2.

Either second hand gameshops/electronic shops like CEX and Gamestation in the UK.

Or if not I try and look on ebay or amazon.

If you want to save money, these are the worst places to buy retro games. Fair enough GameStation is probably the best out there for 2nd hand games, but if we're talking proper retro you'll be ripped off every time. The best places to buy retro games are usually at car boot sales or from eBay. Such people sell for a lower than expected Price.

Disc Replay, Collector's Box, and McVan's Video Games.

I have tried estarland and goodwill, but those didn't pan out.

That depends of what you define as "Retro". When it comes to PSX games, I usually buy them at Gamestop or Online.

There's a video store across the street, I usually just go there. Either that or EB Games, but I don't really go to EB because it's an hour's walk away, and I'm 14 so I can't drive...XD

For me it's usually eBay or Amazon. However, I also like to stop in at Play N Trade although most of the good older games are several dollars overpriced.

I mostly buy from a local game store called Next Level that's down the street from my house. I'll aso buy from yard sales, flea markets, thrift shops and I'll trade for games on gametz.com.

i'm pretty sure you can return the items to a local Goodwill store. but sometimes they say "sold as is,not tested". so it might be risky sometimes, but for old cartridge games, its pretty rare for them to not work.

ebay, its the only place in the UK. i went to CEX the other day saw some super nintendo games and thought ooooo maybe some bargains ? errrrr....no. legend of zelda crappy looking cartridge 26 pounds !! and chaos engine 16 pounds!!! even the guy at the counter apologised and said its the companies fault for not updating prices for over ten years.

there use to be some real meccas for old school gaming like gamestation, but then they were bought out by GAME. i heard that when gamestation stopped selling retro games, they incinerated all there old stock!! hearing that made me cringe.

I use Slackers because its the only retro game store I've ever found. Sadly, I'm not a huge fan of their prices. Sometimes their prices are almost double gamestops and thats shocking.
