A think a lot of us can agree that Capcom is a top-notch game producer and has been for years. Which popular series is your favorite? There's only so many slots on these polls, so if there's another great Capcom game you love, just list it below. From my avatar, I think you can guess my favorite. Resident Evil. But Bionic Commando is a close second, with the latest 360 game being the exception.

I'm not a big fan of capcom, but RE is probably my favorite. RE4 is just an amazing game.

I pretty much like all their games except Mega Man. I just can't get into that series, no matter how hard a try. I love the G&G series though. Maximo is great too, and it's probably one of the most difficult games I've ever played.

Tenchi wo Kurau - Licensed from the popular manga series based on the Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

Capcom did an excellent work with these series. Of course the two arcade action games are the ones I really care about, but from what I can gather, even the RPG games on the Famicom were great.

Wolf of the Battlefield - The original is considered by many (I'm not among them though) as one of the most influential shooting games of its time. The second also rocked hard and was more than a worthy successor. Never played or cared about the third current-gen downloadable game though.

Dungeon & Dragons Collection - One of the crown jewels of the Saturn.

Rockman Mega World - It often gets bashed by Nintendo fans, but it is an excellent remake/compilation for those of us who never cared about the Famicom.

Those are Konami games, not Capcom, and the second is an awful excuse of the PCE original.

Out of the poll choices, I chose Street Fighter.

But, if a game that had sequels and those had sequels of their own could be called a series, then I'd say the Commando series is my favorite. The main character in Commando "Super Joe" was the character used in The Speed Rumber, then he also ties into Bionic Commando, and Commando itself had the sequel Mercs. Bionic Commando ended up with an NES port, Rearmed and a fully 3D remake/update. Mercs was improved upon when they released Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.

I googledTenchi wo Kurau to make sure, and yes, Destiny of an Emperor, the NES RPG, is one of my all time favorites. I never played the second, however (not sure it ever appeared stateside). I didn't realize there were action games as well, but I may have to find them now.

What's really surprising about Destiny of an Emperor on the NES, is that it kept the original Japanese art and everything else intact *shock!*. Something quite unusual at the time for NES games.

The two arcade games are also excellent, I'm actually a huge fan of them and own both the arcade boards and the home versions. The first game was ported to the PCE engine 5 years after its original release and lacks 2 player mode. The sequel was ported to the SS and PS. The SS edition is an almost flawless port, I'm not sure about the PS version though.

It's certainly surprising how they don't have a bigger following, although for me it turned out for the best since I was able to buy the games cheap.

By the way I did a blog entry about the PCE version of the first arcade game, if you want to see more info and screen captures :

http://www.gamespot.com/users/Panzer_Zwei/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25657379

Of course the arcade version looks way better, but the content is pretty much the same.

Of the series listed here I voted for RE.Capcom did some very good c-64 ports/versions ofarcade games like Commando, Ghost and goblins (I'm sorry all NES fans but the gameplayis so much better in terms of difficulty, controls etc. on the c64 IMO) and Bionic commando (On this one the NES gameplay beats the c64 though). Resident Evil is just an awesome series that changed my world. Really.

To think... somebody actually tried some innovation with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms stuff! I do like Koei's Romance of the Three Kingdoms games, but Dynasty Warriors has been run completely into the ground. Capcom should make a fighting game a la Soul Calibur or the Last Blade featuring the Romance characters. Oh, and another RPG (or even one of those "Remixes" Capcom's been doing lately) would be nice, too.

I think the only thing that stops them is that Tenchi wo Kurau is a manga series, and therefore they'd need to buy again the license rights first.

It's the same case with Area 88, I don't think it's been released it in any of their retro arcade game compilations.

It's Mega Man all the way for me! Mega Man 2,3,5,9,10 and X to X3 are some of the most memorable games I've ever played. It seems that I am pretty much alone in this, but I believe that Mega Man 10 is the best game released so far this year :P

Megaman X. Back in the day, Resident Evil and Megaman were among my favourite franchises. But Capcom has sinse seemed to abandon the superior Megaman X series and dedicated itself to ruining the Megaman franchise with these rubbish, 8-bit throwbacks. They've made a similar move in taking Resident Evil in a new direction of awfulness. I was always a fan of Street Fighter, too. However they probably did the only thing they could do to make that franchise successful again and with their latest game, they just remade SF2.

Needless to say, I have a lot of trouble respecting Capcom these days. They used to be a favourite but alas, no more.

That said, I did just buy Dead Rising 2 and maybe Capcom can win back some points with that. I do love zombies!

I've liked the original series for a while, as well as the first few battle network games.

It's a tough battle between Resident Evil and Mega Man, but in the end of it all, I'd say Mega Man. I play them more than the Resident Evil games and I got more enjoyment out of it overall, though RE was pretty damn awesome. I really liked the first three more than 4 and 5, honestly.
