Just curious... Mine's Super Street Fighter IV. It's easy to get started, but the skill cap is so high that it feels like there is always room for improvement and therefore always something to work towards.

Starcraft 2. The only game in this thread that will still be around 10 years from now.
Battlefield series, 2142/BC2/BF3
Carrying on from previous gen, DotA, does the DotA 2 beta count too?
I put more time into WoW than anything else so that. TF2 has robbed me of a fair few hours too, as have Forza and Halo.
Call of Duty.
It's super casual, doesn't have a high skill ceiling, is very accessible, and caters to campers. That's my kind of game.
Battlefield BC 1 & 2 & 1943, Rainbow6 Vegas 1 & 2, GRAW 1 & 2, Uncharted 2 & 3, Far Cry Predator, Call Of Duty 2 & 3 ( the rest of the Cods are garbage )
Subject to Change
Rainbow Six Vegas
Battlefield Bad Company 2
Uncharted 2 Among Thieves
Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed Revelations
Warhawk
And soon to be...
StarHawk
Twisted Metal
I am a real gamer. One that does not play multiplayer crap. If any game has multiplayer of any sort, I will not play it.
Killzone 2. But if you discard the abysmal community of Call of Duty, I'd say Modern Warfare 2. I had great fun with it until it was ruined.

WOW, that's narrow minded... I prefer single player games to multiplayer games a great deal, but there's something very satisfying in trying to outsmart/outstrategize something with a human brain. There is more range of possibilities in what a human opponent can do including employing things like mind games and fear tactics.
Edit: Oh wait he's just trolling. He likes Uncharted 2 and that has a multiplayer component.
For me, Battlefield. To me, i play halo in custom games for the most part and i dont even play cod anymore.

Apparently people couldn't see this was a troll, even with the sig...
Pretty much any good fighter, I'd specifically say SSFIV but the characters I want to play as (Makoto...) are incapable of beating most others, so I end up either quitting or feeling like crap because I'm forcing myself to play as Ryu so I can win. For a second iteration of the same game, I find this unbalanced-ness to be nasty. Been playing Arcana Heart 3 a lot with friends recently though, so I'd specifially point out that as a great fighter for multiplayer.

I'd disagree on Super Street Fighter IV being unbalanced. Makoto is just extremely hard to use. I also understand how you feel... I'm forced to play as Adon because he gets me the vidtory, but I'd much rather play as Dudley. He's just a more advanced character though
I tend not to enjoy multiplayer, Gears 3 was quite fun, most tbh i am really really lookig forward to getting my hands on the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. So i think when that is out this will definatly be my Multiplayer of choice
In the past, Warhawk (its incredibly well balanced) but my current object of fascination is Starhawk (which is only in beta).
After blops I was sick of CoD, so I played Street Fighter IV, BF:BC2 and Halo Reach. They are not as thrilling as CoD can be, but they are better in all other departments.
