This’ll be an interesting one.

Back in 2014 I spent $250 for the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix Limited Edition copy off of Ebay after it went out of print. Only to sell it off later because I decided I was going all digital.

I’ve even seen people pay nearly a grand for limited edition gaming related content from scalpers off of Ebay... I’ve come to realise it’s a waste of money depending on what you’re actually getting.

For a single purchase item it would be the HTC Vive at $800.

@hrt_rulz01: I’ve had my PC rig since 2015. I’d say it’s one of those things where it’s great to experience it at least once as things get too expensive. I’m more of a console gamer. It’s more comfortable imo.

Yeah, I agree.

I enjoyed my time with PC over the years at different stages (and I do miss some of the games, like Civilization etc), but console is just simpler and cheaper for me. Plus I got sick of sitting at a desk playing instead of sitting on my couch :)

Yeah I'll probably buy a Switch soon (I actually had one, but I gave it to my nephew).

But it is starting to get a lot of games I want (Civ 6 is a big deal for me).

Remember spending near enough £500 on the sega Saturn at launch. Around £400 on bundle and extra £100 on extra pad and game.

$500 on my X1X. Totally worth it on my 4k HDR set.

Way back in 1990 when the Turbographx 16 CD Rom player was released. $700.00 Brand new Along with $69.99 Wonderboy 3 Monster lair and Fighting Street. (street fighter 1)

This was a big deal since the 8 bit Nintendo Entertainment system was still current. Videogames on CD were a big deal at the time. I at least got to play the first console CD games.

Years later I pissed and moaned about the PlayStation 3 fabled 60 Giger launch console costing $600.00 and Blu Ray games cost $69.99

When PlayStation 5 launches I will be full of Piss and Vinegar, Bitching and complaining about the cost of Sony's new console. Not really since video gaming has always been expensive hobby/pastime.

So there will always be "outrage" on the launch price of a new Xbox, PlayStation and I guess a Nintendo console? Currently the Nintendo switch is $379.99 or $399.99 and the games are $79.99 Brand new.

But that TG 16 CD ROM add on remains my single most expensive gaming purchase.
