What Was Your First Online Game?

I believe Warcraft 3 for PC was my first online game.

All my friends were playing back then when I was in school.

I think I played more DOTA than the real WC3. lol

Resident Evil/Biohazard: Outbreak.

It was also my first Resi/Bio game. I played it quite a lot online when I got it_

world at war/cod 4 when I got back into gaming on the ps3 back in 2009 only spent about 15ish minutes on the online part. bought demon's souls about a year later and spent 100s of hours in it.

Halo 2 was my first ever online game to play on during the rise of Xbox Live.

SOCOM 2 for the ps2, played a few matches at a friend's house. First that I owned was Killzone again for the ps2.

First retail game for me was Red Alert 2. Before that I had only played Yahoo! Games.

@vfighter: I played the hell out of Socom 2 back in the day. My go to PS2 online game.

Some b.net game like Diablo, Starcraft or Warcraft II

Starcraft is the first but i've ald forgot how it works as i turned to Warcraft III very soon.

with a 33.6 modem, oh man i remember the red dot site with the sniper rifle, it lagged so far behind the actual reticle, it was an art getting a headshot.

Diablo. Jedi Outcast was the first online game that I got ridiculously into though.

Unreal Tournament on PC in 1998-99?

I don't really know. It was either Diablo II, StarCraft, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun, or Red Alert 2. I only played the very odd online game with those though. The game that really turned me into a regular online gamer though was Halo 2.

Probably Mario Kart Wii. Call of Duty World at War was close to that time which also happened to be my first FPS, for the most part anyway.

Doom was the first normal video game that I played in a multiplayer environment- usually at LAN parties with friends. I'm thinking people might not be familiar with this concept, since high speed internet made the a relic of the past. For those who aren't familiar, LAN stands for Local Area Network. In the early 90's this was how we had to play Multiplayer games consisting of more than 2 people.

Basically, you picked a friend who had cool parents or a single mom (cuz they don't give a ****) who didn't monitor their liquor cabinet and had everyone bring over their rig's over. And remember in the 90's computers were ginormous, 15inch CRT monitors weighed like 45lbs, so it took some dedication. I can safely say, that most of my "first times" were at a LAN party. I have a funny story about a CyberDemon and a neighborhood girl that could unhinge her jaw, but I'll save that for another time.

I feel like I should mention Command and Conquer too, it was the first multiplayer game I really got addicted too.

Ultima Online was the first MMO that I played, I use to play it with my dad in 1997. I'm not sure I really liked it though, I found it pretty confusing and obtuse. Everquest was the first MMO I really got into.

World of Warcraft was my first online games

Star Wars Jedi Academy. I still play it too, albeit with its ever dwindling player base

runescape early 2000's

didn't really get into it though, it was more of a glorified chatroom for me.

i've always been into singleplayer / story games before that, and still today.

It was GTA IV i think ? Don't quite remember which version. Maybe it was GTA III ? But it was dam cool ! Spend many hours online playing.
