In this world we can have both so everyone is happy.

Outside of story and premise I don't follow this statement anyhow, and reminds me of what you mentioned with Odin Sphere.

Remakes (good ones anyway) tend to reinvent the wheel to broader its appeal and take advantage of better hardware, and re-use far less assets than majority of sequels. Including ones I've seen you praise.

As for the thread; Nintendo remakes? . . Hmm, more a remaster than remake. Just port over the Remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from the 3DS, up the resolution and restructure the game to play on Switch. I think Switch needs a good alternative to Breath of the Wild which frankly I did not enjoy very much. Sandbox games are rarely my interest.

Easy job, realistic expectations.

None Nintendo Remake, still curious if the Blue Point rumors are true for Demon's Souls. It all makes sense practically. They've already built a good relationship with Sony Japan Studios, and they did have a heavy hand in that games development.

Some remakes/remasters that I’d like to see on the Switch would be:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • Super Mario 3D World
  • Super Mario Galaxy
  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
  • Metroid Prime Trilogy

Along with the first Prime I would be very happy with these.

From what I read Wii/ GC games are a nightmare to port, and they've already sunk a lot of money trying.

I generally hate remakes and remasters. I just want new games. That said, I am also a sucker for atlus products on playstation.

To me remakes are new, remasters I will give you, they are no means 'new'.

Think a lot of people choose not to tell the difference, but remaster is commonly the term for a repackaged port under a HD filter.

That said, I am also a sucker for atlus products on playstation.

Don't exactly dislike Atlus, yet don't really care for much of what they publish. The partnership they have with Vanillaware is one of the rare exceptions for why I buy from the publisher.

Vanillaware have done past works for Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Square-Enix, Marvelous Entertainment, and Atlus parent company- SEGA; who have had a long relationship with Vanillaware.

If Vanillaware left Atlus? I wouldn't give much care honestly.

It's not like they've done a good job with marketing/ or stocking Vanillaware games.

Aegis Rim had an extreme stocking shortage at launch, simply because Atlus wasn't confident it would sell at all. And didn't bother shipping the collector pre-order copies till three months later. Pretty disgusting.

I'd love a Mario Galaxy remaster... that'd be epic. But I'd settle for a Mario 3D World port. Also like mentioned above, Wind Waker HD & Metroid Prime Trilogy.

But I think my ultimate pick (which I doubt will ever happen), is a Mario Sunshine remaster.
