What happened to funny games?

Sure there have been a few around lately, but not as much as there used to have been. Has the laughter in this world disappeared?

The reason why games based around humor kind of died out is because games now require a worldwide presence to be a success. Humor is a very complex part of any society, and is the least likely to translate well. It's unfortunate, because I was brought up on them and would love for them to expand and grow. As someone else mentioned, at least Tim Schafer is still making games.

I just played Radiata Stories early last year and that was the last funny game I've played.

IMO, games should have some sense of humor no matter what genre and atmosphere the game has.

Well, we are only in March and 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is already an early contender for funniest game EVER. I'm not sure if the jokes are intentional or if he doesn't realize his current persona is basically self-parody, but it's great.

Team Fortress 2 and Bad Company are loaded with funny jokes.

And Portal and Fallout 3 have great humor overall.
