What games do you personally consider to be perfect?

These are the few that I personally consider to be perfect. I haven't played many games in my lifetime. I'm pretty selective. Is every favourite game of mine listed? No, only the ones that I consider to be perfect and have no flaws...in no particular order:

Final Fantasy VII

Super Mario Odyssey

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Psychonaughts

Halo: Combat Evolved

The Last of Us

Halo CE have to agree there.

Day of the tentacle.

Homefront 2 (after the patch)

God of War.

Spider-Man

Quake 2.

  • Bloodborne
  • Batman Arkham city
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Chrono Cross
  • Tactics Ogre: Let us Cling Together / Knight of Lodis
  • Starcraft
  • Europa Universalis III
  • Civilization 4
  • Romance of the 3 kingdom XI

Honorable mention to Persona 3, I know its flawed but I forgive everything about that game cause of nostalgia. Its a flawed yet perfect game for me.

I think the only perfect game is Tetris. The first version I played was on the original Gameboy.

Subsequent updates included different music, colour and even a VR version (not played that yet).

But the core gameplay was perfect.

Ocarina of Time comes pretty damn close. Over 20 years later it's still one of the most influential games ever made, as such its mechanics still very natural. If only it had been made with a dual analog setup in mind, it would be spotless.

It's really between Mario 64 & Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I'll just go with both because those games are a masterpiece. Crysis also comes to mind.

None.

Can find issues with any game, no matter how inconsequential to the eyes of a passionate fandom. They exist. It's also why I've never given any game a perfect 10.

Love a lot of games and will sing them with high praise. But that doesn't make them perfect; flaws can also be charming so not intentionally being negative on my end.

@hrt_rulz01: Is Bioshock really that good? I own it but I've never played it. I have played Bioshock: Infinite, though, and I loved it. It was quite unique compared to your typical FPS imo

@valgaav_219: Yes it is that good. If you liked Infinite, I highly recommend Bioshock 1. Rapture itself is probably the best setting in a video game ever (imo of course).

F-Zero X. I think GX is a better game, but it has a few flaws. X is less ambitious, but flawless.

Also,

Bustamove

Chu Chu Rocket

Tetris

Power Stone

Super Metroid

The Last Blade

Well nothings's perfect right?

I guess we could invent a standard though and by that (10/10) a few games like DMC1 and Ocarina of Time should still make that list.

I played both was just overwhelmed and amazed in every respect at the time....

Call of Duty 1 was that way as well... they come up now and again... int he last few years it's been hard to find that experience though.

IMO we're in an era similar to the NES where it's all about points and totals and stuff... quick and easy action don't bother to finish kinda like the mobile games...

DOOM (original), RE4, TLoU, Super Metroid, Prince of Persia TSoT, Company Of Heroes, Tetris DX (GBC), Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Full Spectrum Warrior, Panzer Dragoon Saga (my man Renegade knows what’s up 👊), Fallout 2, Castlevania SotN, Planescape Torment, Metroid Prime, Street Fighter II, HALO CE, KOTOR, Final Fantasy VI, Diablo II, Sam Sho, Arkham Asylum, God Of War (2018), GTA III, TIE Fighter, Gradius V.

Just off the top of my head.

Not perfect by any means (Tetris DX is the one that comes closest), but games that executed everything extremely well.

There is no doubt - Bomberman. All Bomberman games were amazing for me and playing them at https://emulatorgames.online/games/bomberman is like nostalgia. You can really spend a lot of time playing this game. I have mentioned that I am more satisfied playing old Bomberman games with old graphics than playing new games with amazing special-effects and visual effects.

I dont think any games is perfect I mean someone mentioned Tetris which is poster child for being a perfect game, and while I can agree with the reasonings it's still not one of my favorite games. As for my favorite games I'd say the arcade version of Bubble Bobble is probably the closest to what I'd call perfect.

And like I dont wanna be a snarky asshole but a lot of the games being mentioned have some very blatant flaws. I see Skyrim being mentioned even though its known for being a buggy mess.

@valgaav_219: Bioshock is quite honestly a watered down clone of System Shock 2.

Wouldn't call Tetris perfect but it is fundamentally flawless, when one thinks of what a core gaming experience is suppose to offer, and without any of the baggage.

Perfect however, brings into question many are using the Game Boy edition which was known for hard crashes and stuttering issues. And some of the later editions lack some of the better musical tracks or attaches a really bad gimmick to keep gamers outside of the puzzle genre interested.

As such ironically the one I would call the best edition would be Tetris DS. It's essentially the Game Boy game, visually appealing, and without the technical issues of older hardware. The touch screen also makes moving the blocks much quicker and precise. Then again, if the player doesn't like touch controls? They're gonna have a bad time because this edition was built for it.
