In terms of any games, old and newNismology

Then this doesn't really belong in Legacy Platforms. I could've just gone in the Primary Gaming section.

I just finished a couple of chapters in Crysis 2.

Oh, forgot about that game! I had that on the Dreamcast, I think anyways. It may have been a different Evil Dead game, but boy was it fun! Now I need to find that on Amazon.

I played Regeneration on the PC, was pretty darn fun, full of awesome Bruce Campbell one-liners :P

Just finished re-playing Pokemon Gold the other day. Gonna replay either Majora's Mask or Paper Mario TTYD sometime this week though, too addicted to WoW Mists of Pandaria right now.

Mot of the time I play Smackdown vs Raw 2011 with my PSP along with Ace Combat X Skies of Deception. Cant rememeber where I left off but I have to tangle with that big giant airplane that causes shockwaves in the sky

You need to try Champions of Norrath as well then. It's basically the same as BG but better in every way!

For sure. And both of those games have sequels: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II (naturally), and Champions: Return to Arms. Both of which are better than their predecessors, IMO.

Twisted Metal: Black.

Have to admit, for the first few tries of this i wasn't impressed, you pretty much have seen the entire game just by playing one map. But once i'd wrapped my mind around the peculiar controls and worked out the best tactics, it just kept growing on me. Now i can't put the darn thing down!

Fishing Fantasy: Buzzrod

Another of these niche-type games. You play a possum fron Ingland who has discovered a tropical island to the south (not Fronce) from his father's diary. It's a basic 3d adventure (wander around, pick up things, talk to totems) wrapped around a simple fishing game.

Peculiar, but fun so far.

Quest 64. I've tried playing it a couple of times before but quit due to its tedious stat building system. I've giving it another go and made it the farthest I ever have...past Larapool.

Right now at this very second: Skyrim (It is one of the greatest games ever made. Period)

What I'm trying to beat currently: Paper Mario: TTYD, Pokemon Black 2, and Zelda II (I take back everything bad I've ever said about it aside from the difficulty.)

Awesome game. But I felt Oblivion was better. Skyrim felt a little dumbed-down in the level-up and stats area. It was definetly easier; I was taking out dragons after only a handful of level-ups.

Although i can't contribute anything to the Skyrim/Oblivion discussion, i did try Morrowind and Gothic 2 back to back, and i felt that Gothic had much more to give and dragged me in more effectively. It just has a few um... quirks.

Now playing:

Feels a lot like Driver 1, but less frustrating. Perhaps it's a bit easy, but having fun playing it.

I feel the leveling system is much smoother and easier to use, plus the dungeons are much better designed than they were in Oblivion. I love Oblivion, but Skyrim feels much smoother and easier to play, and I still run into things that can kill me at level 66.

I absolutely love Skyrim simply because I was enjoying myself - one small nitpick about the game is that these ancient dungeons that are filled with corpses/never been entered for thousands of years have lit torches all over the place? :P (I know it's just a game but the thought did strike me)

I only played Oblivion once but not enough to make any sort of judgement/comment upon it,

But if I loved Skyrim, would you say that Oblivion will have the same effect on me? Or is it dated now compared to Skyrim?

It doesn't feel outdated, but the gameplay is a bit... rougher in Oblivion. It's hard to explain, but both games have their charms. Where Skyrim has a better combat system with the addition of shouts and dual-wielding, Oblivion has a much more broad selection of weapons, armor, and spells.

It's like how Skyrim and Oblivion are hugely superior to Morrowind, but some people still prefer Morrowind because of the stat leveling. They all play slightly different and you'd have to play Oblivion to know for sure.

I am really not a JRPG fan, but this one just about works for me. Love the graphics and soundtrack, story is weird but just about followable, combat is tactical and fun while not removing the user's direct influence (which is the thing that ruins just about every other JRPG on the planet).

Don't like so much the side-scrolling, seems a waste for the amount of effort that has gone in to create the landscapes - especially when the combat areas are in 3D. And anime-themed norse mythology is utterly ridiculous, western character designs would've suited it far better.

I'm discovering 14 hours in that i'm now severely overpowered in the new areas i'm unlocking. Which means i have to go back and do some grind to get my stats up. Dislike grind.
