So here i was playing resident evil 5 and i was dissapointed by the bossfights.

So i started to think of which games had impressive bossfights and which one were they.

I'v gone back to many games and compare them with today's bossfights.

But first i wanna hear your opinions, what are the best most memorable, well executed boss fights you have ever seen in a game?

The fight against Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts...even at Lv. 100 he's still tough if you don't do things perfectly...that's one of my favorites...

I'm trying to think and the first game, or rather series of games, that come to mind are a lot of boss fights from Final Fantasy. The sidequest bosses and the final bosses in these games are excellent. MGS4 bosses were also amazing.

The hardest bossfight i have ever seen is in Tales of Symphonia but it is a side quest. The devels arms quest the boss has 120,000hp and you need to be level 70+ that was one thing in that game I could not beat.

The Domz Priest from Beyond Good and Evil pops into my head right away. I also enjoy almost every single boss fight in the Pikmin games. If you make one little mistake you lose about half your pikmin squad and have to start over. It feels fantastic when you succeed

The old man sniper in MGS3, and many of the boss fights in MGS4. Also Hades in GOWIII was great.

What are you talking about? He's so easy. I was only at level 92 before I kicked his butt. Level 92 only.

Zone of Enders 1 and 2, Demon's Souls, Zelda always had some fun boss battles, FF13 had some awesome bosses, I can really think of the others but I'm sure there are plenty of games with good boss battles.

Most of mine are last boss fights, but whatever:

Last boss fights of Final Fantasy VI and VII

Last three boss fights in Bayonetta

Super Castlevania IV last boss

Yoshi's island last boss

Pretty much any boss fight in the paper Mario series.

Pretty much any boss fight in both No More Heroes games

Earthbounds last boss, just for how awesome yet disturbing it is.

Donkey Kong Country last boss.

Final Fantasy X's would be waaaay more epic if it weren't so easy.

My list is pretty terrible, I did not really base it off how "epic" the actually fights were but just how bad a$$ the bosses were. There are alot I could have added like the Cyborg Hitler from Wolfenstien, but he did not leave an impacting image on me like these guys.

1-Uber Diablo from Diablo 2

2-Battlelord from Duke Nukem Total Meltdown.

3-DooM's Cyberdemon

4-Vamp from MGS2

5- Vangaurd from Demon's Souls (bad boss fight, but this guy is so cool looking lol)

I had to add tiny into this as well :P.

Devil May Cry 4: Credo. "I am an angel!!!" Best boss fight the game has to offer. Very climatic, lots of cool quotes, not too easy and that guy just looks way too kick-ass.

Tales of Vesperia: This game has a lot really cool and climatic boss fights. Best ones are by far the fights against Schwann and Alexei. The characters itself stand out so much, it feels really great being finally able to fight them. Also the Schwann fight starts with a very big surprise which makes you wonder if you are even supposed to bring him down or not.

No More Heroes 2: Margaret, "Reaper, reaper, thats what people call me..." Addicting song, stylish boss, cool fight. My favourite assassin of the series.

Resident Evil 4: Krauser (especially the quick-time knife fight is extremely epic)

Resident Evil 5: Wesker (again the quick time event in the plane is my favourite part of that boss)

Tales of Graces: First Richard fight. Very, very, very climatic and emotional, not to mention the superb anime sequence after the fight. The high point of the game.

Tales of the Abyss: First Asch fight, final Asch fight, final boss, I am able to ingore the flaws of this game if I think back to these fights.

Tales of Symphonia: First time you enter the Tower of Salvation, very entertaining bosses await you.

Dawn of the New World: Second Richter fight was really cool, but this game also has a lot of cool bosses.

Kingdom Hearts 2: Every boss the final dungeon has to offer. This is the reason why I love this game, yeah its mostly because of the final dungeon. xD

Eternal Sonata: All Fugue fights. I love that guy.

Yeah I could go on, but this is the best of the best in my opinion.

1.Super Metroid-fight against mother brain

2.FF7- final battle against Sephiroth

3.FF10-Lady Yunalesca fight

4.MGS4-Raiden vs Vamp

5.MGS- Revolver Ocelot fight

6.MGS3-FIght against the end(this should have been 1st on my list).

I'd say GLaDOS is a pretty awesome boss, not that hard or anything. But awesome nonetheless.

Most of the bosses in the Metal Gear Solid series are pretty amazing too. Specifically Psycho Mantis for me.

Some of the God of War ones are pretty epic.

The two most memorable boss fights for me are both from MGS. The final bosses of both MGS3 and MGS4. That would be the boss fight with, well, The Boss, and the epic final battle with Liquid Ocelot. I'd also give an honorable mention to the Krauser fight in RE4, and the Wesker battles in RE5. (though the Wesker fight is more memorable because of how utterly cool Wesker himself is, not necessarily because of the mechanics of the encounter)

The old man sniper in MGS3.btaylor2404

Good choice B, that was an epic fight. Such a refreshing departure from all the other hack and slash ones. Hey, what happened to the mod thing? I imagine it took up a lot of time. Anyways, good to see you.

For me, the opening fight from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was pretty damn cool. Don't know if it could really be considered a true boss fight as it's impossible to die, fairly straightforward and very short in length, but the presentation of it was great and it was an awesome kick-off to an amazing game. RE4's bosses stick out to me as well, especially El Gigante and that alien looking dude you had to kill with the C0^2 canisters.

I'm just on my mod "break/vacation" should be back June 2 or 3. I played that boss fight countless times, and it was different and heart pounding each time. It really stood out.

To be honest i did not like the bosses in mg3, mgs4,dmc4 and re5. I like the bosses in mgs1 and 2, dmc3 and re4. I think nowdays devs lack good ideas for bossfights. Especially Dante's brother in the top of the babel tower in dmc3 was quite epic.

Anton Girdeux from Syphon Filter. (Psone.) He's armed to the teeth with gas tanks and a flamethrower. Trying to snipe at him from within a collumned room made for tense game play.

Beast from Apocalypse. (Psone) He throws fireballs and shockwaves in your direction, while the floor breaks apart to reveal a lava filled pit.

There are a lot of memorable boss fights from the MGS franchise, (Grey Fox, Psycho Mantis, Vamp, The End etc) but I think Crying Wolf from MGS4 deserves a notable mention. There aren't many games out there where the elements play a part in your survival. (Aside from Silent Hill.)

I also liked the Scarab tank battle from Halo 3. (360.) The fact that you had to shoot its legs out from underneath, just to board it, and then blow it up from the inside was pretty mental.

While most aren't boss fights in the traditional sense, the Bit.Trip series, I find, has had some very creative and challenging bosses. Basing them off old arcade games was genius!
I mean, who would have ever thought a game of Pong or Breakout would make for such a great boss fight? Again, genius!
Desann in Jedi Outcast. Because you can kill him without directing a lightsaber attack at him. :D

The King of Shadows in NWN 2, because he gives a nice sense of urgency when fighting him.

And that last dude in Quest for Glory 4. Killed by the ultimate joke.

Been a while since I played a game with an actual boss at the end. THe best recent one has to be in Brutal Legend, the last fight against Doviculus(sp?). The fight itself was good, but its that last swing that makes the journey full circle, is what makes it truley epic and fulfilling.

"DECAPITATIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!!"
