I’ve been trying to get into Dungeons and Dragons, but since i don’t have any friends that play I’ve stumbled on these virtual tabletop sites and softwares. Roll20 and FantasyGrounds seem to be the most popular, although there are a couple others that offer much better visuals for a cost. Does anyone here use any of these? They are all fairly complex, but I’m trying to understand how to use them to get some good games going on them.

Only digital D&D I've used is Larian Studio related. And they're not 1-to-1 accurate. More of a hybrid.

Divinity: Original Sin II has Game Master Mode which we've used for a short D&D session, it's pretty good.

And Baldur's Gate III is built around the 5E rule set. Though still not a finished product, yet.
