Yes they are. My other reasons for wanting an original xbox is this machine will be in my garage. My 360 is currently in for repair and I will have second location in my house to play games when the HD TV is taken over by the family. I currently have a nes and snes in my garage and just want to turn it into my personal arcade
yeah an xbox would really add to your collection, now all you need is a ps2, a computer, and an original arcade "booth" (or whatever), with a collection of your favorites

If I was to get another PS2 it would cost more money. 2) I want an XBOX because it's $60 bucks and there is some titles for it you cant play on the PS2 and the 360 3) This machine will be in a separate room from my 360 and I just want to know if it is pretty reliable like the PS2 was. There a VERY few titles on the X-box that can't be played on the 360. Beyond Good and Evil, Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance and Family Guy are the only ones I can even think of that arent.

Xbox's are great for softmodding btw, very easy to do as long as you don't have one of the later models that came out. I bought mine so I could softmod it and play emulators on there.
Well I already had an original xbox so that's why I bought the arcade 360 because I don't care about live or large demo files as I have a slower connection so I saved fifty bucks.
If this is your hobby and passion, which I assume it is, it's not a bad idea to keep older consoles around. I, personally, don't trust the 360's BC capabilities when it comes to playing modern "classics". Even if I got the 60gig PS3, I'd always have a PS2 sitting around, somewhere. Hell, I still have my Intellivision for when I'm feeling old school. So, yeah... Get the XBox. And pick up a slimline PS2 to replace the one you miss while you're at it, too.

Then I ask for an apology vashkey. I though you were one of those Playstation vs. Xbox defending the PS2. My bad.... Oldschoolplayer extends hand to vashkey for gamer apology.
It is important to keep in mind that the BC list doesn't mean that the games play well. It means that they play on the 360. I have heard of several games from friends that do not work as well on the 360. Many of them lag and so forth. I'm pretty sure they said there wa a slight but noticable lag from pulling the trigger to firing in Halo CE.
