My job and commute takes up way too much time for me to waste on MP these days. I can only really game in short spurts here and there now, and with the huge amount of singleplayer games I have in my backlog, I feel like I'm just wasting time by not progressing through anything when I play MP games. When I was younger it was all about MMOs and FPS MP though...mostly HL mods (CS, The Specialists, Firearms, DoD, etc).

I'm not a very competitive person by nature anyway, so I generally have little interest and get flustered rather quickly playing with other people.

TL;DR, I too care less about MP now that I'm older.

Really wish I could play Max Payne 3 again. Random pauses make it unplayable now. Tried Overwatch and BF1, but I'm not into the new shooters.

Man that really sucks wish I could help just out of curiosity what OS are you using? and when was the last it worked normally?

I'm answering you out of courtesy, but you can't help me. Windows 10. Maybe two months ago. I've removed all USB devices, reinstalled all of Steam, ran the game at the lowest settings and windowed mode, and even upgraded to a whole new CPU (i5-4670k to Ryzen 5 2600X). Nothing.

I just wonder if it's a windows 10 update that messed things up did you play the game using Windows 7 or 8 back in the day?

MP has always made me rage. I’ve had some good games in CoD and Battlefield. I usually stick to SP games these days. I don’t have a whole lot of motivation to get good at MP. It seems to be based more on your Internet connection and luck rather than skill, at least on console.

I play the odd game of online halo 5 and gears but nothing compared to the 360 days but that's probably just me as a gamer this gen. I seem to get less time to get immersed and playing online games.

i still like MP games but am no good at them anymore. i destroyed everyone in RTCW but just run around and die in modern CoD or battlefield.

i love games like RDR, Fallout 3 / NV, Mass Effect 1, 2 , 3, FF7, most all zelda games etc.. it's so fun to lock yourself in a room and get totally immersed and IMO it's the BEST gaming experience other than WoW when BC was rollin' full steam with the awesome raids and epic AV.

Well I am pretty young(in my teens) and I must say I enjoy single player games a lot more than online multiplayer because since I was younger I was never exposed to competitive online games and it was still a new thing to me. I much preferred to play solo and set challenges at my own pace. Of course that does not mean I have not tried multiplayer gaming, I have had a go at Fortnite, Warface and some other games before (all which I am trash) but never found as much enjoyment than playing something like Uncharted 4 or Horizon Zero Dawn.

To answer you question I would probably yes because my dad used to care more about these stuff and then he slowly just became not bothered and gravitated towards single player games.

MP gaming is only as fun as the people you are playing with. My favorite of all time was halo 2 when you could still talk to the other team playing your team. It was some of the most fun I ever had.

I'm too hyper competitive to ignore competition and competitive games. No matter how much Overwatch frustrates me, I still come back because I love the competition. That said, it's not as strong because I don't have as much time to get better at games, so single-player games that give me a challenge but don't test every neuron in my brain or twitch reflexes are more and more appealing.

I used to play SP and MP games but now, i am more of an SP gamer than MP gamer but I still play MP games when I go to an internet cafe because that is the best place to play MP games.

To answer your question. First. You are not alone when it comes to gamers who no longer want to play MP. I for one do not play MP due to the experience being the same regardless of what game you are playing. Here is your objective. Typically, no one really follows said objective. Players are more interested in their K/D ratio or being the first on the scoreboard. The irony is I spent most of the time at or around the top following the objectives given by the developers; go figure! NO ONE communicates with each other. If someone is using their microphone, you get the opportunity of being involved in EVERYTHING that player is doing; toilet, mom yelling, music, heavy breathing, television show, etc. Regardless, the general aspect of MP has changed significantly over the years and has evolved into the opposite. Yet, like most movies and television series, it seems like we are going to keep getting the same thing over and over again.

I started with Call of Duty 4. As of late I've gotten sick of multiplayer. I can't stand anything team based with random people.

The opposite, but it's maybe because I have such little time to play multiplayer is kind of a quick gaming sessions. Plus single player games aren't as short as they used to so me playing for 20 hours feels like forever.
