Mario, Contra, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, MegaMan, Shin Megami Tensei, Ultima, Castlevania, Wizardry. Those are the only franchises that pop in my head all of them are over 20 years old.
Castlevania has to be up there.Allicrombieyeah.. i agree,, :P.. i think my old uncles has the old games.. :D
Flight Simulator (started in 1980)
Ultima (started in 1979)
Ultima IV was my first RPG along with Dragon Warrior.[QUOTE="Allicrombie"]Castlevania has to be up there.HitomiChanyeah.. i agree,, :P.. i think my old uncles has the old games.. :DI think the first CV game came out in 1986 in Japan. What's cool about a lot of series from the NES era, like CV, Mega Man, Mario, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Metal Gear, etc. is that they're still making new games there. Ultima, Pac-Man, and Flight Simulator have been around longer, but it's been a while since the last game; not to mention Richard Garriott isn't involved with his series anymore, Pac-Man generally has ports and remakes (like the XBLA version in 2007), and the studio that makes Flight Simulator was dissolved this year. So it begs the question of what the criteria is regarding new games in the series...
