stuck in Castlevania 2 Lords of Shadow PS3

I am currently stuck on the second acolyte level. there are 3 golgoth guards and an elevator with mistable gates in the floor. I've tried going thru all those, I've tried possessing a guard but can't get passed. elevator opens but not long enough to get inside. don't know what else to do. need help please

lol i know the area you're talking about and yea it was a b!tch.. took me several tries, what "geniobastardo" said pretty much covers the method i finally used tho.
