The author of this topic said that the regular PS2's don't support DVD+-R/RW and Progressive Scan.
Wrong!
I have a PS2 (not PStwo) 50000 series, and it supports DVD+-R/RW and Progressive Scan just like the slim PStwo. The 50000 series also has the remote sensore built-in and is the last model released before SONY started making the slim PStwo.

[QUOTE="_oo7_WVL"][QUOTE="hittin"]PS2 is much better than PSTwosierrad
i agree end the slim has a lot of problems like craching
.
Crashing......... I have not experienced any crashing with the machine
My mate has got ps2 slimline and I think it is quite good it is well stlyish and due to it not having a fan in it... it doesn'tmake a lot of noise.
I would recommnded it if your ps2 is broken or you are thinking about getting a ps2.
But all I have to say after that is if it isn't broke don't fix it.
I am happy with my ps2 and thats is not a slimline console, they do the same job.
[QUOTE="sierrad"] PSTwo .vs. PS2
If you want to find out the advantages of Sony Playstation's new slimline console, then read below:
~ PROS ~
1. Integrated Network Adapter (Online Play).
2. Upgraded DVD Support (DVD-R/RW ~ DVD+R/RW support) - (Upgraded DVD Software).
3. Slim Design (Console is more durable and fits in most small places) - (It will be easier to move your console around the house or take it to a friends house)
4. Flip Top Design (The console works like the PS1, so you have to insert PS2 Games/DVD's in the top of the console).
~ CONS ~
1. No HDD Support (There is no place to attach a harddrive to the console) - (Sony has substituted that for the slim design).
2. Flip Top Design (You cannot store the console in small vertical places due to this design) - (When console is opened it averages to 4.5in height)

u forgot about the disc read error of the old PS2 cos i use to get that alot with mine but now i have the Slim one i have not once ever got any problems like that, so it is a better lens
the way i see it is the slim ps2 is only worth buying if your current one gives out (disc read error etc) before the ps3 release, and you cant wait till the ps3 comes outdan_archer1010
Have any of you guys ever encountered in the older ps2 darkening then lightening of the screen while your watching a dvd?/solution
I have tricked out my fat arse PS2 with Network Adaptor and Modchip for various types of CD's. Space is not an issue so no point in getting a Slimline.
All my friends have PS2's so I don't need to take it with me. Even if they didn't, I can't be bothered going around the back of my Home Theatre set-up to unplug everything.
the hdd was supposed to be out here along with the release of the ps2 ffxi, but neither have happenedfinal_sephirothi've seen the hdd with a linux os kit for sale in a magazine.
The SlimeLine doesnt have a fan does it?? So if you play it for time and overheats then your ****ed I mean you payed so much for it and it overheats!!The_WestSider
This may sound weird, but I find it quite hard putting a CD inside the slim PStwo console; I think it is quite inconvenient.
I take very much care of my CD games, making sure I do not get any scratches on them. It just seems to me that the CDs can get more easily scratched
with the top loading PStwo(slim) console. Does anyone agree with me?
This may sound a little dumb, but does anyone have any tips in putting the CD in the best way?
Will the CDs “click” into place easier over time maybe?
I appreciate any feedback on this,
Thanks
