I'll try to contain my astonishmentI expect the game to be a pretty big flop seeing as it's yet another paint by numbers soul crushingly boring, grindy MMORPG, so I wouldn't be surprised if it goes free to play after a while.

I don't see why people hate subs. If the game is any good and worth playing paying 15 a month isn't bad. I did it for wow for years. I really got my money's worth too. I wouldn't wanna play a f2p mmorpg. AutoPilotOn
people would rather get nickle and dimed to death with microtransactions than pay 15 dollars to have access to everything the game has to offer

Disagree. Imagine that TC buys a bunch of game each month, is he buying all those games and still needing to buy the subscription to a game?Â
mmorpg games take alot of money and manpower to maintain
Damn, come on...it's called Elder Scrolls Online.
And they are justified in asking for a monthly fee, just like I'm justified to never pay it.

From what I've seen it really looks good, I'm not that fond of MMO's, but if the game turns out great I'll have to overcome my singleplayer immersion issues.
If the game is good enough, I don't mind paying $15 a month. I just won't go out to eat a couple times, or find some other way to make up for it. I usually have some spending money though. I just don't know about this game yet. Hoping I get into the beta. Friend was invited to a couple closed betas but was at work while they were taking place. Like 3pm-6pm.
ive played morrowind, oblivion and skyrim all on the xbox and will continue onto the new console, and being new to mmo, I'm wondering can anyone tell me exactly what the $15 a month gets spent on?GR1PZILLAAccess to servers.

Its not about not being able to afford it but in this day and age of so many great free online games why should anybody pay its just greed, world of warcraft player base is dropping and look at what happen to starwars so if they think they can use the skrim name to rape people pockets think again.

i dunno, maybe because it costs insane amounts of money to create and maintain these types of games? pay 2 play has been the standard for mmorpgs for the last 15 years until recently
