Wait for the GOTY/Complete Edition?

I have the GOTY/Complete Edition versions of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption. I've always been the type that waits for the complete edition of a game. Knowing RockStar, there will be a complete edition. The more I read on about GTA V it seems like there's enough there already, but what exactly is RockStar going to do for DLC? And will it be something that I end up regretting the decision to not waiting for a complete edition?

You would probably wait 2 years until all DLC's came out. And then you would have an outdated game because the next-gen is going to be in full swing in 2 years. If you don't mind waiting 2 years and don't mind having older graphics go for it.

That will be a long wait. I couldn't wait that long.

I would say get it Day 1, it will be too long of a wait for the GOTY edition.

Is it a game you're really excited for? If yes, buy it day 1. If no, wait for price drops/GOTY edition/etc. It seems silly to wait a year or two for a GOTY edition just to save $20-30 if it's a game you're looking forward to.

There's more than enough content to justify to $60 price tag. And any DLC would likely be worth their individual price like GTA 4, so Day 1

It depends. If you are too excited for it get the game day one. If you can wait (like me) the get the GOTY edition in a year or two.

I'm getting it on PS3, and then buy it with the add on when it's released on PC

The SP alone looks like it could easily take 100hrs and then with the MP and if you have a friend to play MP with could be another 100+hrs. That's pretty good value. I've probably put about 1000hrs or so into the GTA series.

Mind over matter. Ignore the hype and wait for the GOTY edition if you can. $60 games decrease in value so fast, it's not even funny. Watching spoilers can help curb your need to run out and buy right away. By the time you get the game, you'll most likely forget the spoilers anyway or won't even care. Since it's Rockstar, you know a complete version will be coming eventually.

Out of curiousity, I went to a game store to see how much I could get for Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy and they told me 3 dollars, lol. Not too long after it was released. Plus, with all this season pass crap, cheat code bonuses like flying a blimp for paying $150 for a collector's edition, you might as well wait and get the complete game for less. Who cares if it's outdated by then? People still play PS1, SNES, Genesis games to this day.
