Has anyone come across a non fantasy/space rpg recently? I'm really sick of the clichéd games of the genre, but really need something to fill the hours at the moment. thanks :)

Fallout might suit you, if you're into a post apocalyptic setting.

Yup. Fallout 3 has a great gritty, no-hope kind of atmosphere.

You also might enjoy Persona 4, unless you consider a TV world filled with symbolic enemies to fight too fantasy for you. That's half the game, the other half is spent in the real world. Takes a while to get going though.

RPGs that are note worthy and no fantasy/space based, Mario&Luigi, Devil Survivor, The World Ends With you, Borderlands, Alpha Protocol, in addition to the ones that were already mentioned.

yeah, i played the Fallout series and V:TM Bloodlines (best game in the world, ever) but couldn't find any alternatives.

Thanks guys, i'll check out these oh-so manga games you've suggested which, to be honest, i've always steered clear from.
