RDR2s map makes no sense to me

they talk about leavikg

blackwater, so why is it beside where you end up camping? I dont get why you went Into the mountains , just so go down again 50 yards away lol.

Earlier I did a mission that took me to Blackwater and I too couldn't believe how "far" the gang retreated. Talk about a Homer of a plan.

Did this really need to exist when there is already a very active RDR2 focused thread on GD?

When can you actually unlock the Blackwater new Austin map? It’s driving me nutts why I still can not go into that land yet.
