I'm 13, am I alone?:? It's kind of weird when my ten year old friend asks me if I want to play Splinter Cell Or Halo and then says "Oh, that's right." So then we have to play Star Wars.

Yeah that's true but it's kind of sad when all the games my friends have are M. Same thing with TV though too. My parent's banned a few PG shows from me. But, I'll live. Maybe.

Also when I was 6 no Y-7. My brother play's T games, and he's 9. My parent's let me play some T when I was 12 but barely. Now my mom forces me to let him play my T game (Language, violence, Tobacco Use, Alchohol use) on my system. But again I'll live.:|

My mom used to not let me, but once I got my xbox 360, I convinced her to let me play M rated games. I'm 15 right now by the way.

I was playing M rated games at 10-11 years old.

No, I don't kill people, I don't rebel against my parents pointlessly, I'm not a wannabe thug, and I don't want to beat up hookers, steal cars, and kill aliens.

Just as it takes more than one person to perpetuate a stereotype, it takes more than one person to 'destroy' one too.

My advice: Respect Your Parents.

I do and I will not beg them to play or play them behind their back. I have never cussed never done drugs and have no failing grades. I will play when they let me.

I wish more parents were like that. I went to Best Buy once, and watched as two kids--Both probably in middle school--saying "Yo! Halo 3 is the best game eva! Yah, Halo rocks--oh, Call of Duty That game's awesum!" Oh, and one of them had been hittin' the twinkies a bit hard too. There's a reason there is a "M" on the box.

I thought you were looking for advice on how to overthrow them? awwww. M rated games do up the amount of cussingyou do on a daily basis though. (trust me)

Write and sign a contract that allows your parents remove your ownership of M-rated games if they perceive an increase in use of profanity, but requires them to buy you any game that you offer monetary compensation for.

When I was about 7, my dad didn't want me playing Deer Hunter. xD Now I'm 13 and my mom bought me Devil May Cry without a problem. A lot of parents believe that stereotype that kids playing T and M rated video games turn them into bad children.

No I never had any restrictions on games I could play, and since age 13 I've bought all my games online, so I always got whatever I wanted without having to go to a store with someone older.

You are not really missing out on much without M rated games. If the American age rating system is anything like the European system most 18+ games are just focused on being grossly inappropriate rather than being a great 'grown-up' game. Just focus on the really good stuff that you CAN get, trust me there is loads of stuff. :D

When my parents were heavily into the church they didn't let us play most games. I guess that's why I have only recently (the last year) got into FPS.

Nah my parents have always been cool. They bought all my Mortal Kombat games back in the day when I was like 10 or 11 and my mom bought me GTA3. She had too go into the game store and pay because I was under age back then.

Like mentioned before, no Im not rebeling, stealing cars or doing anything else against the law. Its just a stereotype that violent games make violent kids. Im 24 now and I play alot of diffrent games. M rated and stuff like Klonoa and Kirby.

I'm turning 16, and the only games that my parents refuse to purchase for me are games from the GTA or Saints Row series.

No I was playing True Crime when I was like 9 or 10 I think, and GTA San Andreas when I was like 11. They were my brothers but my parents didn't really mind. I just couldn't let my little sister watch me play lol. So I guess it's never been an issue. And to the TC you are 13 but can't play certain T rated games? That's messed up lol. I have heard the "S" word in T rated games but still it's 13+ like a PG-13 rated movie so meh that's lame if you can't play some T-rated games.

i get to play T or M rated game with out trouble.I'm not even 18 yet!Although in game, mature players like to Swear their head off and give you a confusius moment and lecture you about camping, noobs, and disturbances.Get's really annoying.

I couldn't play most T games till I was 13, and I had an extremely hard time getting M rated games till 15-16. It's still a struggle to get certain M rated games :P

I've played violent video games from a very young age. I was about 9 or 10 when I got MGS1 which is the first game I ever played with proper blood and gore (Revolver Ocelot getting his hand chopped off, the Cyborg Ninja slaughtering all the guards in the corridor, etc.) I think back to when I bought it. I just went into Gamestation and bought it myself no questions asked. It's a 15+ game but nobody gave a damn back then. GTA3 came out 3 years later when I was about 13. It's an 18 rated game and I got it given to me free when I bought my PS2 at Virgin Megastores (without my parents) and again no questions asked. And then everything went to hell... Vice City came out a year later and nobody under 18 could get hold of a copy, seriously. The shops checked everyone for ID. My parents are and always have been very liberal about this stuff so it wasn't a problem for me but loads of my schoolmates were screwed. If you can prove to your parents that you are mature enough to play those games without becoming uncomfortable then they really don't have any argument except "Because we said so," which is kind of like the dumbass parent motto. And just to make a point, I don't have any violent tendancies or mental dysfunctions.

Actually the only game my parents didn't let me buy was San Andreas. That's it, above all else they don't mind.

If games were rated at the time I would have been playing M games since I was three. When I was around 8 there were some games my parents would not let me play like Resident Evil or Perfect Dark, I have no idea why, but I was always able to play other games. When I was around 10 they stopped caring about that. I think two of my first M rated (because ones I played before were not rated) games were Duke Nukem 3D when I was around six and the first Baldurs Gate when it came out.

I wouldn't want M rated games. Most of them are full of blood and gore. Its disgusting. A little I don't mind but some games it is just nasty.
