Original PSX Disc Problems

i went and bought new copies of final fantasy anthology and IX (greatest hits versions), and they are not playing in my ps2. i also bought FFVIII which works. i noticed anthology and IX discs werent black like the original PSX games are supposed to be while VIII is. Does anybody know what the deal is? if it helps the discs are supposed to be USA copies and i bought them brand new from amazon.com so i need help asap if ima need to return them

i forgot to mention they're kinda a silver color which seems strange for me since ive never seen psx discs that color

those discs are meant to have a black surface to them , all PS1 games do .

there is a fair chance they are actually bootleg copies.

yeah but they came directly from AMAZON not like another seller, id like to think amazon wouldnt intentionally screw me over but is there anybody out there that has had a silver playstation disk anywhere it may not be an american copy or something, just want to be sure before i send them back

well my copy of FF9 has black discs, though thats a PAL version so it might be different where you live for all I know.

Some of the things that seem like they come "directly through Amazon," do not in fact come through Amazon. Amazon is in a really messy state these days. I would suggest reporting it to Amazon, because all PS1 games should have black discs.

i thought so too, but i just wanted to be sure. i already reported it and am shipping them back first thing monday. thanks for the help guys!

im not stressin it. ive already sent them back. ill just go buy them from someone else, hopefully ill get a playstation game this time lol. they really did look legit though, case and manual all brand new. im still not convinced they did it on purpose cause one outa the 3 was good, i think someone screwed them over and they didnt realize it.
