I still have my old NES and my Dad still has his Atari 2600 from when he was younger though I'm pretty sure it doesn't work anymore.

Used to be NES before it stopped working. Now it's the SNES, which still works perfectly fine.

The oldest console I have is the PS2, although I have had the Gamecube for a longer period of time than the PS2. Although I have a Wii, the only reason why I still have a Gamecube is because I don't want my little cousins playing on the Wii and having the flatscreen HDTV to be broken.

My father's Odyssey2. Or a SNES or a NES, I'm not sure; I've never played it.

I have an original launch Atari 2600 from 1977, Black Vader colored. The Black Vader Atari 2600's are the rare and hard to find, so pick one up if you happen to see one in a flea market.

I have an atari but it doesn't work any more. I just keep it because its still cool and you never know....some one could need spare parts one of these days and offer me some bucks for it!

I had a NES way back in 1988 but it broke when I was in the forth grade.

The oldest working video game console I have is the sega genesis!

Sears Video Arcade, their version of the original Atari, the VCS. It was my first console but i didn't get it until the late 80s, when the NES was already out (family was poor). Consequently, i didn't get the NES until the SNES came out. So i've been a console behind my whole life. Just picked up a PS3 last month and provided Sony doesn't release a new console this year, i'll actually be caught up.

That is THE oldest system. It's like the holy grail of console collector's. He wins. That is unless someone here has a working PDP-1 Computer with the original Space War game, which I doubt. I have a Commodore 64, but it got the black screen of death finally last year. As for a working console, the oldest would be my Nintendo NES. It still works, and just today I replaced the 72-pin connector. By doing that I never have any flashiness or having to blow into games and stuff.

I have two NES's but one doesn't work. The one that does work is a pain to play because I constantly have to press the reset button over and over again before it comes on and if it gets slightly bumped the game shuts off and some of my games can't keep saved data very long because the batteries in the cartridge are so old.

No, the Atari 2600 was released as the Atari VCS in 1977, and later renamed the Atari 2600 when it was repackaged in the early 80s, but it was still the same console. While the NES was released in 1985, it's Japanese counterpart released 2 years earlier in 1983 as the Famicom. Even then, there were consoles before the Atari 2600, not many, but there were. The Magnavox Odyssey was the first console, released in 1974. The Fairchild F was another early console released sometime after the Magnavox Odyssey and before the Atari 2600, but I don't the date on that one. I'm sure there were more.

NES, it takes a lot of trouble to get it working though.
