No! Steam Is Banning Lolis games!

You heard it hear folks, from this article: Steam is banning loli video games is what I called childish! I'm sick of everyone's accusing anime games as if they are for sexy stuff but the reality is, is not.

Young cartoons must not be exploited!! I sincerely hope they take it up a notch and ban depictions of underage cartoons drinking, smoking, driving and purchasing weapons. INNOCENT CARTOONS SHOULD NOT BE EXPLOITED!!

It’s the right thing to do. Most of the visual novels I own on steam don’t include H-scenes anyway so it doesn’t affect me. I’ve never cared for them.

As someone who regularly plays Visual Novels games, the vast majority of visual novels with H-scenes are just thrown in for sales and doesn't affect the story. If Steam isn't allowing it, just go buy it off from the official store website then, it's what I normally do and no, I don't play loli games cause they fucking suck without plot for the most parts despite I like Hentai in general. It just means only renai visual novels will be allowed on Steam, which are usually just the VN with the H-scenes removed. Sometimes they even add new characters/events/routes that's not in the original H-version but their is a loophole to this, I usually go to the official site and download the patch for the H-versions and I have few H-games on my Steam library.

A lot of animes (at least their localized versions) and anime games get around the "18" thing by never actually mentioning the characters age, but now there is a crack down on characters that "look" young. The thing is, a very large portion of anime characters look nothing like what their described age range in real life would be. In many animes, unless someone is intentionally meant to look very old, everyone looks young regardless of their age. There are 40+ year old women with the same young skin complexion of teenagers. Steam's free to do what they want, whether it makes sense or not, since it's their platform, personally, I find the whole situation a bit silly though since it both revolves around perception and not fact and doesn't have any sort of universal criteria.

School children shouldn't be sexualised, and a disclaimer saying "these characters are 18/25/800 years old" doesn't really change the fact that it essentially amounts to paedophilia.

If they want to make porn games, they should make them look like adults, otherwise it's just really really creepy.

Honestly, unless they are actually minors, I don't really care. I've read about a lot worse than this. 18+ acting like an infant, 18+ voice acting a middle school girl in hentai....unless they are literal minors (or some other group that is illegal to do porn), it doesn't offend me. It's not something I'm in to, but who am I to say other people can't be into it?

Kotaku have made a few hit-pieces on Valve, and now actively trying to prop Epic's service.

Most likely because Valve went with a "anything goes as long as it's not illegal or a troll" attitude, and policing it with SJW shit.

The depictions of the faces is the issue.

They are simply drawn as pre pubescent children with bosoms like beach balls.

It's disturbing imagery as far as I'm concerned and would be happy if it gets banned completely.

I'm an anime/hentai guy, the whole loli thing isn't my thing, but I do know it has it's fan service so hey, if they like it, more power to them. I prefer MILF only. I don't know what people see in lolis but oh well.

I rarely play hentai games, but I only play them for the "plot" if the game has a good story to tell and an adventuring at that. The problem is, plots are rare in hentai games and there's too many fan service so it's kind of a bummer and it's hard to find plot nowadays.

@davillain-, manga usualy has the same problem unfortunatelly. I'm a girl, that is why fanservice is not inportant for me at all, sometimes it even makes the story completely frivolous while author tries to tell something not very funny.

Whatever people's "freaky" preferences are, I don't really care.

The only problem is when people, on both sides (those that indulge, and those that criticize) take that shit seriously and/or literally. If you literally think people that enjoy depictions of _____ because they seriously want to do ________, then you're wrong. Conversely, if you like it because it's literally what you are into, then that's a problem.

I don't want people to know what I am into, and I certainly don't want people to criticize me for it because, hey, that's just my thing.

And if one's argument is the "yeah well it's close to something illegal", well, that is a very slippery slope my friends. It's either illegal, or it isn't. We can't have degrees of acceptance on this because it's close to being illegal.

Just cover up the suspicious girls. What is point in banning a game, send a referral to change what they find wrong....of course this is Valve and they don't do shit, so they will ban and expect devs to figure it out.

Man, you guys are just an all anime haters who thinks this is a good thing. At least however, their are loopholes getting around to this issue so nothing of value was lost for those who loves Anime games :D
