Need recommendations for offline games

I am an old woman (70's) who spends a lot of time without internet. I used to play games like Kings Quest, Space Quest and Leisure Suit Larry decades ago. Puzzle type games. Never could get interested in Myst. I would like some new games I can download and play offline. I have a MacBook. Is this the right place to ask for recommendations?

You seem to like top down games. Might I suggest Hatred?

Big Fish Games have got some pretty decent puzzle games. Dreamland is one I'd recommend.
