I could probably think of a few.

But for one the Mario Odyssey 100 Skip Rope Challenge was pretty difficult for me until I switched from the joycons to a pro controller. It took me around 2 days to get that darn second moon. Crazy right? I would always lose momentum at around 50-60.

Some of the stages in the New Super Mario games are pretty tough too. Especially if you're on single player and trying to obtain all the star coins.

I haven't had any issues with boss fights for a long time honestly. I remember back when I was younger playing FFX. Some of the boss fights were really tough. Mainly due to me not using the sphere grid and collecting most of the summons. Oh well. ;)

the Capra Demon in Dark Souls. very nearly made me rage quit the game and never finish it.

also, the bottom of Blight Town in the original DS where you were constantly getting poisoned right before fighting that spider boss (can't remember the name) was also up there.

more recently, the very first boss/level in Darksiders 3 really gave me a lot of trouble. You learn the platforming mechanics at the same time as fighting this boss, and I kept messing up the platforming and got very pissed off. it wasn't even that hard of a fight but I got so mad I was struggling at the very start of the game that I had to put down the game for a while and come back later, then I beat it on the first try.

The Holoholo bird in Baten Kaitos: Origins. My girlfriend (now wife) and I jumped up and hugged when i finally beat it. It's kind of funny looking back, we've never done that before or since to show excitement about something.

F-Zero GX just in general. I've been trying to unlock the AX tracks for over a decade now.

Double Apex Rajang in MH4G is the absolute most difficult 'boss' in a game that I have experienced. It took months of practice.

Honorable mentions goes to TEW Akumu Chapter 6, people who know of this likely just got goosebumps. . It always bumps my death count, it's partly luck-based just to succeed.

And as a whole game; Ninja Gaiden Black/ Sigma (MNM) and Devil May Cry 3 (DMD), they need no introduction, they're pretty well known examples.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is really difficult for a Resident Evil game, but not comparable to The Evil Within games difficulty if I'm being honest. I've already bested them on the most difficult settings. I died, a lot, but also made it through less than a week after release.

Water temple in OOT. For a first time playthrough, it’s pretty confusing.

I remember Truth and Reconciliation, the original Halo on Legendary, right when you board the ship there's a few waves and 3 or 4 stealth elites with swords. My first time through solo, I honestly didn't think I was going to get past it. Pretty much smooth sailing from there...i mean, lots of dying but nothing nearly so trying.

Never did beat the plane mission on the hardest setting for MW1 (or was it 2?). So close, but it just stopped being worth it to me.

Final Fantasy 8 Adel boss battle. This happened 15 years ago when I was unable to dislodge Adel. I struggled to get past her. Using Regen didn't help.

@warmblur: I played it on Nightmare. It was tricky but at least I wasn't playing it alone. Basically the radar doesn't work the entire time.

Spec-Ops: The Line: the whole game is maddeningly hard on FUBAR difficulty but the most teeth-gnashingly frustrating part is defending the crashed chopper near the end of the game. Can't think of another game that brought me that close to a mental breakdown.

Well I'll just go with one I'm dealing with right now. Those "Run from the black hole" stages in SSB Ultimate.

Being away from Smash Bros so long and having just gotten Ultimate, I'm getting used to the feel of the game again, on Switch no less.

I completed the stage, but didn't get that many of those shiny things you collect. I used to be decent at "Break the Targets" and stuff like that, but for some reason the black hole stages are harder for me to get a decent score on.

@omegamaster: Would you be able to get past her easily now? It's always satisfying when you revisit a game years later and it's an absolute breeze defeating.

Well, it's been 12-14 years since I last played Final Fantasy 8. It's doable... as long I find a new tactic since I have always spammed GF's in every single battle. I spammed my GF's from the beginning up to the Adel boss battle. GF's are useful in guarding your party's HP in battle.

Pirate Master from Shantae and the Pirates Curse, big middle finger to Wayforward for that last fight. Then, Galactus from Marvel v.s Capcom 3 took me about 30 deaths to study his f'n patterns. I learned my lesson to not mash buttons to the top in fighting games lol
