Here are just 3 tracks of the magnificient MUSYA for SNES> > Title: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YT495vXx5I&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PLBD6EF832559DBAAC Stage 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr5207wd8MY&feature=BFa&list=PLBD6EF832559DBAAC Boss 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OILsJXUeFfc&feature=BFa&list=PLBD6EF832559DBAAC The music is clear, the instruments are hearable, the game doesn't play the sound through a static barrier like the majority of SNES games, it's as close to CD quality you can get on SNES. You might try and say "nope" but that's because you have some bias somewhere, listen to this music. the SNES would explode trying to over conquer this! Not a shabby game either, pretty good. Nice and challenging.

That is the worst attempt to disprove Musya I have seen in my life. You compared clear sound with hearable insturments to a game playing music through a static wall to make it sound better which instead makes it sound like I have bad reception on the radio. Whether it may sound better or be your favorite music genre, ok, but technically, no.

Mega Man X2. Final Fantasy VI. Well, I'm not talking my opinion. These are better (and yes, I listened), whether "technically" or not.

FFVI is the only one around the level technically, megaman X2 however is clearly not. You also can;t say something that's your opinion is technically better. Musya is technically better than X2 by a large gap.

Agreed. (Though the SNES had the best sound of the 16-bit era, by far) I don't know where this guy gets the idea that the game's music is "the best on the SNES PERIOD. No competition."

I agree with the others that Megaman X has better music than Musya, but Maximum Carnage is my favorite.

The few tunes it does have, are pretty cool. But the problem is that they recycle a lot of the same music throughout the game.

I'm not too familiar with Musya (but I do like the tracks) As far as best music (not coming from a technical standpoint-just what I like) I think these are very good: Final Fantasy III Chrono Trigger The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Super Metroid Mega Man X

That's why it's on the iPod. The two sequels aren't quite as good as the original IMO. Also, Starfox is up there as well.

DKC definately had one of the best soundtracks. I especially like the music that plays in the bonus/special areas.

TECHNICALLY Axelay is better than Musya. Also, in my opinion, Axelay. Also, why has no one here heard of Axelay? I would also like to nominate Secret of Evermore, The 7th Saga for retro cool sounds, and perhaps underrated Paladins quest. Also Megaman X2 has a way better than Megaman X, and Megaman X3 does not exist in the music department. Oh, i forgot about Final Fantasy VI. Although it wasn't exactly consistent, when you first go into the castle at the start of the game and the king joins you, that place had a good sound track. If anybody know what I am saying, probably not so I'll stop now.

I totally agree! There are Super Nintendo games that do the system justice, but for the most part it is ruined when they filter all the beats for some odd reason. The best example of this is the Super Mario brothers theme on All Stars sounds very inferior to the original. I take it tc if we included the Genesis, there would be a lot more competition?

What is Sega doing in a SNES topic? Talk about trolling a troll topic...

But now that it's already started, I may as well fan the flames...

The Revenge of Shinobi

  • The Shinobi
  • China Town

Phantasy Star

  • Pleasure

Herzog Zwei

  • No Time to Lose

Star Cruiser

  • Space Flight
  • Red Zone

Ys III: Wanderers From Ys

  • Redmont
  • Prologue to the Adventure

Streets of Rage

  • The Streets of Rage
  • Last Soul

Streets of Rage 2

  • Super SOR Mix
  • Go Straight

Sonic 2

  • Emerald Hill

And best of all...

Zero Wing

  • All Your Base
  • Hit Man

Actually, I already mentioned it...

Secret of Mana

  • What the Forest Taught Me
  • Leave Time For Love
  • Meridian Dance

Jag85

A few more tracks I'd probably add for Secret of Mana:

  • Together Always
  • Summer Sky
  • Boss Battle

Not with how the SNES puts sound through the TV, it actually sounds better on an Emulator. (You must own the game however to take my suggestion or it be illegal.)
