Most beautiful platformers

I'm a huge fan of platformers since my early childhood and Super Mario Bros. 3. However, I feel that what comes to looks, the most beautiful platformers are original Spyros from Insomniac. I just loved the vibrant color schemes and remarkable vivid worlds inside the games. The lush grasslands, sparkling diamonds, sensuous moonlit nights and rich details.

I haven't actively played in years and I can only imagine where the possibilities and creativity have advanced since the fifth gen.

What platformers have impressed you the most with their aesthetics?

Flashback was awesome

Super Mario 64 was awesome. And I like the idea of jumping into paintings.

How about Banjo and Kazooie and Ratchet and Clank.

Mirrors Edge had a very nice look going for it. Crisp, clean, with brief flashes of color. Got_to_go

Super Mario Galaxy for me. Galaxy 2 looks like it will be even more great looking.

ratchet and clack: a crack in time

klonoa:door to phantomille(remake on the wii/originally on playstation1)

mario galaxy is fantastic, and gives you the beautiful vibrant colors as well

for ps3 you've got little big planet, or ratchet and clank:crack in time(i recommend this more)

Braid. Not only did it look nice, but the music was also beautiful.

Rayman and Clockwork Knight. Two games that made your eyes pop out of your head in the early days of the 32-bit era.

check out 'Cletus Clay'.. I've been tracking it for a while now.. Looks like quite a unique platformer
