These developers that have a game coming out the same year (so you know what they say won't be far flung speculation) but when asked questions always say "well we're not talking about that just yet"

WHY THE HELL NOT? You have the stage at the biggest pres event in gaming to talk about a game thats coming out in only a few months, the ear of the gaming world and even beyond is listening you literally wont have a better time to get us all excited yet instead of telling us why your game is awesome you show a tiny snippet and won't go any further?

Why so you can save those announcements for 1 month later when you'll release it on your website newspace where only the people who visit your forums will see it?

Last E3 there was the 15 minute gamespot stage demo of MW2 and questions were asked throughout yet instead of answering them the guy just kept saying "we're not talking about the multiplayer/weapons/characters/story/freaking anything else except this tiny ice mission and ooo shiny shiny heartbeat sensor yet" so it was like a waste.

What was there to save since most everything about the structure of the multiplayer is the same. What was there to hide?

Damn it frustrates me. Props to any developers who this E3 actually tell us things about there game and get us excited.

If you've ever participated in Beta's of some games, you can often see some fairly significant changes to the game. Maybe not so much in the story or graphics department, but the values and designs of many mechanics can end up being very different in the span of the few months that occur in a beta.

I can definitely see some reservatoions made by developers on commenting on certain things, especially in something as high profile as E3. Often times developers say things in the forums on their own game to the more hardcore/dedicated fans and receive a big backlash if something gets changed from what was said. I would definitely not want to go onpublic with something in E3 and fail to deliver.

They don't tell you about things because if they told you everything at E3, they wouldn't grab your attention.

When it is broacasted in the US at 18:00 o'clock, it's 3 o'clock in the morning here.

I can watch it after 10 minutes have already passed, because the streaming is slow because of the thousands of users watching it in the same time.

Developers want to give the impression that the game is going to include something that other games will not. With MW2, they were just saving the disappointment until after the release.

Not that anyone can do anything about it, but E3 just isn't the same anymore with online journalism. I miss those issues of EGM that were 300-400 pages of games you didn't even know were coming out until it arrived at your mailbox.
