Hey guys, just picked up a copy of CTR (crash team racing) for ps1 a couple days ago for $2 at Goodwill. I'd say it's not a bad "Mario Kart64" clone, but it's still not quite as good. What do you guys think of the games that try to be MarioKart or MarioKart64? Are there any really good ones? any you think are better? I have most consoles, but not a Dreamcast, Saturn, Jaguar, or Gamecube (at least not yet).

Speed Punks on PS1 is meant to be quite good. There's also S.C.A.R.S on N64 and PS1, which I haven't played, and of course the fantastic Diddy Kong Racing. Krazy Racers on the GBA I remember being really good at the time.

I remember liking Mega Man Battle and Chase on the PS1 a lot back in the day. But last I checked it goes for quite a lot, and like many other Mega Man games it never saw a release in the US.

That game looks pretty cool. Maybe it'll be available on the PSN for the psp. Doesn't look like it really pushes the limitations of the ps1 though. Almost looks like graphics from Starfox or Stunt race fx on Super Nintendo.

I thought CTR was a better kart racer than Mario Kart 64. Jak X racing is also pretty boss, also from Naughty Dog.

I enjoyed Diddy Kong Racing more than Mario Kart.

There is also Chocobo Racing...although I haven't tried it...Kart racing except use of final fantasy characters and spells.

I remember playing Mickeys speedway USA years ago on the Nintendo 64. I don't remember it much but I guess it was kind of good lol. I remember one of the power up moves "the speed ball chucker" or what ever it was called. Thats pretty much all I can remember of the game.

I remember the game being really crappy. Kinda hard to believe that it was developed by Rare.

Actually, Battle & Chase is included with Mega Man X Collection.

I wouldn't call that a Mario Kart clone (I do see what you mean though) but yes, it is awesome.
