I love story driven games like Dragon age and Mass Effect, but I have played all of those. I have played the Witcher series and Skyrim (which I didn't like too much) and now that I am done with all of those I want to find more. I am at a loss for what is out there that is a story driven rpg. I am not much of a FPS or RTS lover so finding something isn't that easy. Any suggestions? I have played all the older games too..BG, IWD, Diablo, NWN, etc...

Have you tried Final Fantasy XIII? I bet you can get a used copy for under $10.

The Last of Us is one of the best story-driven games I've played. Final Fantasies VI through XII are also good.

The Last of Us, definitely, but please don't watch trailers, just some gameplay to see if you like it.

The controls might be a bit difficult to get into in MGS1 and 2, maybe 3. But yeah, the story is so ridiculously complex that you have to experience it.

Heavy Rain is interesting for it's really important decisions, but you'll find a ton of plot holes if you look well enough.

Telltale games don't have very important decisions, but they FEEL important, which, if you only play games once, is pretty much the same. TWD Season 1 and TWAU are fantastic.

My suggestion is Persona 4, which is also considered to be the greatest story focused game, as well as one of the greatest games period, of all time.

Persona 4 is available on PS2, PS3, and PS Vita. On PS3, you can get it for $10 off the PSN Store; the PS Vita version is significantly enhanced (it is called Persona 4 Golden), and it's a bit more expensive, but you can find physical copies of it on the market for cheaper, and it goes on sale frequently on PSN as well.

Homeworld: Cataclysm (PC, not in the remastered collection)
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (PS2)
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (on Steam).
Fatal Frame 1, 2, and 3 (can be gotten on PSN for the PS3)
Yakuza series (PS2 thru PS3)
Xenosaga (PS2)
Ar Tonelico 1, 2, Qogs) PS2-PS3)

Completely agree. I'm not very good at stealth at all, but the story was worth it. What I did is I got Twin Snakes for GC (it plays like 2 did), then 2 and 3 for PS2. I just ended up playing them all on easy to experience the story. MGS4 and even more so in MGS5 have vastly improved in the gameplay department that I have now bumped up to normal lol
