Bit of a "Dog bites Man" topic here. The general rule since E.T - The Game for the 2600 came out is that licensed games suck.

I've found two recently which are actually pretty good. Scarface (I am playing on XB) and John Woo Presents Stranglehold (I am plying on 360). I found that they both embrace their subject completely and use the uniqueness of the property to make the game better than it otherwise would. These are both games i would have ignored (since they were licensed) if not for the good word of mouth from people I trust.

Anyone else got some?

EDIT: The word Suck was edited out of the topic.

Eragon get's terrible reviews, and since everyone who read the book was so appauled at how bad the movie was, that I'm not surprised that the game is just as bad (if not worse.)

oh wait, I misunderstood this topic, I thought it was "licensed games that DO suck" - anyway, Riddick is definetly one of the best licensed games I've played.

Anyone played some of the LoTR games? I hear a few of em are pretty good.

robotech

Robotech:Battlecry, in my opinion, was pretty damn good. I was hesitant about buying it when I first heard of it but, I just couldn't resist the overwhelming desire of flying a Veritech fighter. Though the game had some issues when it came to controls and at times the levels seemed a little bare, I found it to be very true to the series and just flat out fun at times. What was even better was that it stayed very true to the series and maintained its art direction from the series which filled me with a sense of nostalgia and took me back to when I was 6 years old.

The Lord of the Rings The Two Towers and The Return of the King were both great action / hack 'n' slash games. Reviews:
