I really like the Zeala games, but I've never had any as I've never had an N64 - and I'm thinking of buying one just to play Ocarina of Time and that Masks of..something (and maybe Poke'mon Snap took :P)

Before I buy one, for tuppence, can I in any way get the Zelda games on my, say, PSP?

I'm not up with all your can do nowadays and it amazes me what's possible sometimes.

no, Zelda is a IP that is owned by Nintendo, you will never see it on any other platform besides a Nintendo made platform or Handheld.

You're very lucky that you posted here, in the generous General Games Discussion board, instead of a place such as System Wars. You would have gotten flamed a lot.

To answer your question; no, there is no legal way to play Zelda on anything other than a Nintendo platform, as the series was created, and it is still owned, by Nintendo.

For purists: Zelda had two non-Nintendo releases on the Philips Cdi in 1993: Zelda: Wand of Gamelon and Zelda: Faces of evil, yet these are game no one really wants to play (except me). YouTube them for more details on the reason why.

You could also buy a Wii. Virtual Console has the original Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: Adventure of Link, A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. You can also play Windwaker on Wii.

Also, since the Wii is backwards compatible with the GC, it's possible to find the Zelda Collector's Edition out there at used game stores, and it has Zelda I, II, Ocarina, and Majora's Mask (though buggy) on the same disc. Though there's a bit of loading, the GC version of Ocarina of Time is actually better than the VC version because of the rumble and enhanced resolution.

Barring a deal like what happened with Phillips, Zelda games will never be on anything other than Nintendo systems, and those CD-i games aren't offical in any way.

We're getting a Wii soon; I didn't know that could, effectively, play N64 games. I'd like to use a classic controller though, if it's on the Wii I'd have to use the Wiimote wouldn't I?

I know little of these things.

I could get a N64 as well, they hardly cost anything.

You can also use a GameCube controller with the Virtual Console, which is probably the best way to play Nintendo 64 games.

Actually it had three. Zelda's Adventure was released in 1995 on the CD-i.

If the 2 zelda games were the only 2 games that ever came out for the N64 and it still cost what it did at launch it would STILL be worth buying for those 2 games alone.

Awesome. More hours and hours of quality gameplay! (meh)
