Is there somebody who wants to help me with metroid prime for the gamecube

I have a question how do you use the scan visor in metroid prime? because the screen is sayin that you have to press left D-pad and than hold the L button but i'm stuck in the beginning of the first level (the kind of tutorial) because i'm pressing left D-button/arrow and than holding the L button but nothing happens.

Do i have to press more buttons or something else has to be done?

left d-button activates the scan vision now i press and hold the L button aimed at the red symbol/sign but nothing happens, i see no acception/analysing in the screen.

I hope it's not a glitch because the game was pretty expansive for a used one.

Hopefully somebody can help me, i will appreciate it.

If you have the scan visor on, use the left shoulder button to access the data if I remember correctly, keep in mind only the red scans are critical, orange scans provide bits and pieces to the overall story.

By the way, magnificent game, 1 of only 3 games I've given a perfect score!
