Seems like a lot of titles dont get much love that were on the PS2.
So is there a game, on the PS2, that is underrated that is your favorite PS2 game or/and your favorite game of all time.

Yeah, actually it is.
Shinobi got only average ratings at best, but I found it to be an awesome game.

I still can't get over that scathing Eurogamer review. I used to have a fair bit of respect for them until I read it. I don't think I've ever enjoyed a hack & slash game more than Shinobi.

I never read that review. But I remember IGN gave GodHand one of the most negative reviews around, and that was another PS2 game I enjoyed the most.Reason I made this topic is because recently I got a PS2, and there seems to be a lot of good games that no one talks about. I guess its just because were in the next gen not really PS2 era. Anyways Freedom Fighters, PshycoNauts, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Veitiful Joe, really any game that isnt one of sonys 3 main platformers (Sly, Jak, and Ratchet) arent that talked about.
I always thought Indigo Prophecy was awesome and even though It got a lot of positive feedback I never really heard about it ever. I can't exactly remember how I came across it, but in my opinion this was a very underated game especially because it wasn't a game for everyone. It was different.
KILLSWITCH!!!
The original Gears of War. I enjoyed this game more, as well.

Okami, Ico, SotC, God Hand are NOT underrated. They are regarded as great games.
i really liked enter the matrix : the path of neo.... it didn't get very good reviews and some of the platforming hit detection was so-so in places but i thought it was a lot of fun to play through and a good adaptation of the fighting of the movies. the levels were somewhat varied so it didn't feel like you're running through the same places doing the same thing over and over.
if you like the matrix and think it would be fun to play out the fight scenes and be neo, i'd recommend it.
Persona 4 wasn't really underrated. It didn't sell over a million. So to the ps2 community it was under-rated.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Persona4 Devil Summon 2jasonharris48
Twisted Metal Black / Black Online are probably my favorite PS2 games, but I doubt they would be considered underrated. My favorite console game of all time, however was Twisted Metal 2 on the first PlayStation. Technically TM2 can be played on PS2 though.
Edit: Just like any "favorite" game topic, I end up thinking about another game (or games in this case) -
Twisted Metal Head-On Extra Twisted Edition and Motorstorm Arctic Edge
I'm sure both fit the category of underrated - and I did enjoy both of these more than TM Black / TMB Online.
Good game I'm guilty for liking it also even though the graphics were meh and it was kinda glitchy and the framerate sucked. But entertaining.i really liked enter the matrix : the path of neo.... it didn't get very good reviews and some of the platforming hit detection was so-so in places but i thought it was a lot of fun to play through and a good adaptation of the fighting of the movies. the levels were somewhat varied so it didn't feel like you're running through the same places doing the same thing over and over.

[QUOTE="jasonharris48"]Persona 4 wasn't really underrated. It didn't sell over a million. So to the ps2 community it was under-rated. It was more a victim of its release date more than anything, a hardcore RPG, most players had moved on by its release. I agree that Ico, and SotC are not under-rated. Katamari is a game that I love but never heard all that much about. Bully while it never scored too poorly never got the attention it deserved, one of my favorites on the system.[QUOTE="Fightingfan"]Persona4 Devil Summon 2Fightingfan
These games weren't received well but I enjoyed them Big Mutha Truckers and Big Mutha Truckers 2: Truck Me Harder I thought the games were quite fun plus I like how the developers Eutechnyx put the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge in the game considering that bridge isn't that far away from me.
That game is so awesome but so hard. Or at least it was last time I tried playing. I've had it for like six years and have yet to beat it :PYeah, actually it is.

[QUOTE="SteverXIII"]Since XIII (I assume to be the cel-shaded FPS game) was also on PC and Xbox it might be considered Triple-Underrated :) Yeah :D Shame not many people bought it. I thought it had a really good story. Like a mix between spartan and bourne identity.XIII, hence my name :D

Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog. I know it seems silly, but those were two of my first PS2 games. I loved to shoot a friend down in Shadow the Hedgehog's versus mode, and I would also play Sonic Heroes versus mode. We would always come up with ways to make it more challenging, particularly the "really fast" races. In Mad Express, we made it mandatory to fly across both trains twice. Anyway, I really enjoyed those games, and to see them get bashed by so many sites made me question my taste as a gamer. :(
